I know that sounds awful, but I'm ready to have my "ME" time back! I have to stay up until midnight to get anytime for just myself. UGH!!!!

I love my kids....but I love my "ME" time too!

I know what you mean!! I will only have one day for me time until I have to return to school also. I'm ready to pull my hair out!!!

I'm the odd one out here LOL...but my kids are only in kindergarten and preschool. It's been nice not having to taxi them to and from school everyday. We don't have to worry about a schedule or anything. We just hang out! But, I'm sure if my kids were in school full time, and I was use to them being gone...I would be ready for that time back as well LOL :)

Well i was ready for them to go back before they got out lol...About a month ago i had them home for 11 days straight because of the chicken pox and a fever so add that in with the 17 days off this month and last and i'm about to go bonkers = ) i do enjoy the not having to get up as early though but i could do without the fighting constantly all day everyday = )

I haven't been home that much while they have been home! I have liked not having to get up on my days off to get people to school.

They have kept pretty busy and haven't been fighting that much.

Mommyathome I agree. I have a 5 year old in kindergarten and she only goes until noon and I have an 8 year old that goes all day. So I have to make 3 trips a day out to there school. They are out of the school distric so I drive them. and on top of that I have twins so its rough having to get them up and out of the house 3 times a day. I am really not looking forward to having them go back. but they say they are.

I guess I am the odd one out also, LOL.
My Dk`s are all in school all day.
I like it that they are home.
It has been a very nice vacation.
I guess we have so much going on nights and weekends it`s been nice to slow down and just enjoy each others company.
I am starting to stress a little because
they will be back in school in only 3 more
days!
I have to remember my routine again
and get my planner out and write everything
down

I am going to hate for Monday to come too. I drive my oldest DD to and from school. She also goes in a nother district so no bus routes out this far. I have not missed having to get up get DS on the bus, get DD out the door rush home so that I can get the girls on the bus. My kids have done really really well this break and I am acutally looking forward to summer vacation...

By Mommyathome on Friday, January 2, 2004 - 11:50 pm:

Well, at least we are closer to the school than it sounds like some of you are. We only have to go about 4 blocks to the elementary and 10 blocks to the preschool.
I've always said I would prefer to drive my DK's to and from school rather than have them take the bus. And, I think I still feel that way...I like to see that they get into the school safely. But, sometimes I think it would be nice to just stand at the door (in my pj's :)) and wave to them as they get on the bus. And then have them delivered back to the door after school.

Count me as one who likes the vacations better than school time. No homework!

My son is in a private school half mile from the house. When he was in public he was half mile in another direction. No bus here. He rode the bus during summer school (or had the option to) since the summer school site was a couple of miles away. But, Lord Have Mercy on the kids on that bus. The kids were so wild and out of control on it I stopped letting him take it. I have since been told by adults I know who used to ride the bus to school that the worst and wildest behavior was always on the bus. Is that true?

I am glad it is break. School is too much mommy work! I have three that are full time and each night we spent way too much time going through back packs, working on science fair, studying for test, making sure everyone has everything. I am just not organized enough to keep it all together for them, which also means they haven't learned from my great example..LOL.

On bus behavior, we moved this year. I do miss the convience of the bus, now we walk the half mile to school whether I feel like it or not..LOL. But the behavior on the bus is bad. My daughter was really effected by it, and she is so glad not to have to ride. I had no idea at the time, I thought they would miss it!
