Any moms from Vermont?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2004: Any moms from Vermont?
By Kathy on Thursday, January 1, 2004 - 11:28 pm:

It looks as if we might be moving there and I was looking for some info. TIA

By Bea on Thursday, January 1, 2004 - 11:35 pm:

Where in Vermont Kathy? I've spent some time around Stowe.

Yes, where Kathy? I grew up in NH and went to college (Keene State) near the VT border. DH grew up in Claremont, NH, which is also near the VT border. I would have no problems moving to VT. It's very similar to NH. :)

Vermont is beautiful (from what I've seen on TV anyway LOL). Never been there, but have always wanted to visit.

Around the Brattleboro area. We went up to Burlington this summer, but that is just too far up north for me. So yeah...Brattleboro area...Windham County. That's really all I know. We're going to take a drive soon and see what we can find.

Ah, Brattleboro! Partied in Bratt many times during college. The drinking age was 18 back then. :) Very close to Keene, NH, where DH and I went to college and lived for several years. Nice area!

LOL. I once was engaged to a guy from Keene. But that was too many years ago to even think about.

We have friends that live in Brattleboro. It looks so beautiful. They moved there about 6 yrs. ago from Louisiana. They love it there.

Dh is constantly trying to convince me to move to Vermont. We go there a LOT on vacation. I'd stay away from the Northeast Kingdom unless you are very into outdoor sports and LOVE winter and sub-zero temps. Stowe is beautiful. We found a small town called Reading on a back road coming home from Killington, it was quite charming. Burlington is nice too. I love rural Vermont but I would hate to be that far from the ocean. Check it out well though, because there is quite a bit of poverty in Vermont (because there's not a lot of work).

Thanks everyone. I actually would rather not move anywhere, but if I have to, at least it is to a nice place. DH is a freelance artist, so he would be taking his work with him and it would be the same as it is now....hopefully. ;)
