Can anyone recommend any places in Florida that are near the beach and kid friendly. We have done Disney and are not doing it again until next year. Also, what attractions would you recommend? Has anyone done the Pirate Dinner? What about resorts? We have a 7 year old boy and a 4 month old girl. TIA!

I am partial to the Pinellas county beaches since I live here. We have Busch Gardens in Tampa. The beaches are really nice. We have LOADS of awsome parks. There's lakes for skiing and fishing. Boats to rent, those Pirate dinner things you mention, tons of events going on around town year round. And if you really want to do Disney you can go for one day and still be home the same night.

We are going to FL in Oct, 2008. Too far to really make plans but just curious what is the Pirate dinner thing? We did Disney 2yrs ago and loved it.

My DD recently moved to Jax Beach, which I think is a part of Jacksonville. We have been there 2 times, and I love it !! It is definately not overrun with tourist, and the beach is amazing!! She said the locals there refer to it as "Florida's best kept secret".We visited a few more spots, and I liked Jax Beach the best.

Pirate's Dinner Adventure

It appears that this place is in Orlando, so I would think you would want to look for some place near enough to Orlando that you would be able to take this in too. Your DS would probably love it.
