Finding truth in political campaigns

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive October 2007: Finding truth in political campaigns
By Ginny~moderator on Sunday, October 7, 2007 - 10:48 am:

It is always difficult to find "the truth" in political campaign statements, especially in a candidate's statements about other candidates. I have always relied on FactCheck, which does in-depth analysis on specific issues - FactCheck

I recently read of another website, PolitiFact. It does not do the kind of in-depth analysis FactCheck does, but seems to be fairly even-handed in pointing out the level of truth of campaign statements. PolitiFact

I think it is important to find the truth about what politicians are saying, and urge you all to bookmark these sites as aids to that effort.

Thanks, Ginny. I have heard of Fact-check, but not Politi-fact. .
