"Toys "R" Us bought the sets from Funtastic, a unit of a Hong Kong distribution company called FPL Group (nyse: FPL - news - people ). They are manufactured by a company in Ningbo, China, called Danxiang International Trading.

"The 213-item set contains crayons, pastels, colored pencils, fiber pens, water colors, a palette and other art supplies in a wooden carrying case." Toys'R'Us has sold 8,300 nationwide since October 2006.

I know that I've started paying closer attention to what I purchase. I have been opting for the "Made in the USA" labels for a few months now.
