HELP!!! My daughter left water rings on a veneered dresser.

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive July 2007: HELP!!! My daughter left water rings on a veneered dresser.
By Tsa on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 - 10:50 pm:

My daughter inherited her grandmother's vanity style dresser. Today, Rachel had a few girls over and they went up to her room with a drink. Tonight, I found water rings where the glasses were. HELP. This dresser means so much to her and to my husband. Any ideas on how to get them off.

I used toothpaste and got out the white residue now it is just the rings. Can you refinish a veener piece?

TIA

Do a search for ring remover. You'll come up with a number of products. I had something here, but I can't find it to give you the name.

You can refinish a veneered piece---very carefully--as long as the veneer is still glued down very well.

I use something on my furniture that works really well called "Cabinet Magic" I originally bought it when we remodeled out kitchen, for the new cabinets. Works great on everything.

Thank you so much. Rachel was in tears over her grandma's dresser. I am going to try and find the Cabinet Magic tomorrow. (I worked today).
