WIsh Me Luck, I have an interview today!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive July 2007: WIsh Me Luck, I have an interview today!
By Bellajoe on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 - 12:59 pm:

I have an interview in about 45 minutes! It's as a receptionist at a orthodontists office. My brother actually got me the interview. He had his braces off this past week and he was talking to the receptionist and she was saying that it was so hard to find good people to work these days. He mentioned that I was looking for a job and they told him to have me call. I called yesterday and spoke to the girl. She sounded very nice and very glad to hear from me. So i'm going in today to see the office and meet them and the doctor. I'm so nervous. I have not had a real job since my dd was born 8 years ago! ONce she was born I stayed home with her and went to school part time, had my ds, did a summer internship and then graduated and have done nothing with my degree...which is an associates degree in Medical office administration. Now since my ds is going to 1st grade he will be in school full time, which is why i decided now is the time to get a job!

Wish me luck, i've gotta go now!

I wish you all the luck in the world... Other than the ladies I had to work with I loved working in a doctors office.. I hope this works out....

Thanks ladies! I was there for over an hour. The lady who is the main office lady was very friendly and informative. They kept telling me that they liked to keep it a stress free environment, they hate stress (but who doesn't?) I love that it's a very organized office, she had sort of a template of papers for different situations which is nice. It's a orthodontics office, but he also does normal dental stuff, but not that often. He also teachs seminars to other doctors, so doctors all over the country call in and ask questions about stuff. It sounds busy, yet organized and they try to keep it nonstressful...although it did sound sort of stressful to me since it's all new to me.

She told ME to call back if it's something that I think I would like to try out. It's also can be part time or full time, whatever works for me. So I guess I will know sometime next week if I have the job!

The nice thing is that I was so nervous when I first walked in, but when the woman started talking to me and smiling and was friendly, I really relaxed and was fine.

If it is what you want then I hope you get it.... And stress free would be nice.. The ladies in the PED's office worked for didn't have the same moto... they loved causing issues, would go out of their way to upset each other and I am a stress free kind of person.. :) Just not the place for me... Wishing you the best..

Patti, it sounds like you have the job if you want it! I'm happy for you. It seems like you would do well in such a position as you have such an easy going, friendly way about you.
Let us know what happens!

She told me to call back next week since the doc has a seminar in California this weekend and it's a bit crazy in the office when that happens.

So I will call back on Monday and tell her i'm interested. We'll see what happens after that.
