missing pregnant woman

It's so sad. I don't know if the article here says this or not, i didn't read it. But the news said that her 2 yr old ds is the last one that has seen her. He saw the struggle and whoever took her. He told the police "my mommy crying" "mommy in the rug"

Poor little guy. She was apparently taken from her home. Her mom found the 2 yr old at home alone.

She is from Akron Ohio which is about and hour away from where I live. It's all over the news.

By Kaye on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 - 09:23 am:

I have been reading about this story. I have to say I am a bit suprised that they say they have no suspects, but the father of the children who doesn't live with her was only shortly questioned. they have given so little info about him.

I also read they are not "questioning" the son. Because they want it to come out naturally. Well geesh, give a 2 year old a week and he may not remember anything. I know it is hard, but they should ask, who was with mommy when she was in the rug. I know it wouldn't be admissible, but it just might help.

It is all so sad, but the investigation sounds fishy to me, I think someone is hiding information.

By Vicki on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 - 09:32 am:

I am not convinced the father had nothing to do with it. He has a very extensive backround. It is about 30 minutes north of me!

Kaye last iI saw on teh 10 o'clock news last night was that , (showed the man) was a plice office who was estranged from his wife adn is the father of both of her children. I didnt' knwo that they had questioned him they preduced a interview via telephone that a ex girlfriend had donewith fox news channel and told them that he had thrrented her before.

I feel so sorry for the son, he ws just holding her picture and saying mommy crying and won'y let the picture go.

I too think they should try to ask him like you said, there are ways tol talk to a 2 year old and get them to talk back. ask him who was with mommy? did someone knock on the door.

last night as I was going to bed I heard the tv say that a new born had been found in the vicinity of where she disappered, but they where unsure if there was a onnection.

I do pray for her safe return and her babys. I'm so gratefu7l that whomever took her had a drop of care and did not harm her 2 year old.

I heard on the news this morning someone left a baby on a door step about 40 minutes from where this woman was taken. They are doing dna tests but don't believe it's the baby of the missing woman. This is such a sad story. I feel bad for the family, especially the poor little boy.

By Nicki on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 - 04:05 pm:

This is so terrible. I'm saying prayers for her safe return.

By Bellajoe on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 - 10:40 pm:

I was wondering if they would or have asked the boy who was with mommy. Perhaps he would say "daddy", if he actually knows his father. He's the father of both her children, but he is married to someone else. It does sound like he has a record too.

They have read him his rights, but did not arrest him and now he is a suspect.

About the newborn baby found, she was found in a wicker basket on the doorstep of a nurse who has a free clinic or something like that. There was a few diapers and a bottle and formula in the basket with the baby.
So obviously someone cares about this baby enough to leave the essentials.
also, Jessie was expecting a girl. They do think it is a white baby, and Jessie's baby would be biracial.

By Mom2three1968 on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 - 10:49 pm:

I don't have a good feeling about this, I feel badly for Jessie and her little boy, also the unborn baby. One never knows what a biracial baby will look like, it make look white at birth but then get more color as it gets older,( as was the case with my grandbaby, he was very light and got more color as he got older)so you never know. What a shame...

By Bobbie~moderatr on Thursday, June 21, 2007 - 11:25 am:

I find it hard to believe that that little boy knows as much as he is sharing and he hasn't mentioned daddy, if daddy was involved... He doesn't know daddy will be in big trouble, so he isn't telling half stories as he doesn't know he should. From the reports that I have read, Bobby Cotts Jr co parented Blake. So Blake knows his voice and what he looks like.. Any child would be telling on Daddy for making Mommy cry..

I hope they find her soon.. The longer it takes the higher the chance of evidence being lost. Lord knows, with out some evidence coming in, Bobby Cotts Jr. will likely be going to jail for the rest of his life, enough evidence or not..

And according to Bobby Cotts Jr's supervisor he is a well regarded patrol officer and has never had a mark on his record. He was and is separated from her wife, Kelly Cotts and she was fully aware of him being with and having children by Jessie. He has one child by Kelly and another child by a woman named Nikki. The media, isn't researching into their breaking news stories before they feed the public the information.

All the people involved are in my thoughts.. that poor little boy, luckly he isn't old enough to fully understand what is going on....

By Kaye on Thursday, June 21, 2007 - 12:24 pm:

LOL Bobby, we all read things differently.

He has a girl friend 9 months pg and a 2 year old son. He has a wife with a child right in the middle of the two is what I think I read. So in general I think he isn't an upstanding guy. Whether the wife knows or not, morally it is just wrong.

Also he has a domestic abuse on his record, he was fired in 2003 for a gun issue, this was overturned though and he was reinstated.

So when I read about this man, I think he has been running in bad circles and not making great choices.

As for what the child said, I think my kids would have been more likely to point out a strange person that hurt mommy than daddy, because daddy was a normal part of life. Also if daddy was ever loud with mommy, ever hit mommy, then the only unusual part for the kid would be the broken table and the rug, which are what he mentioned. I sure would like to think that someone asked the boy, who was with mommy when she broke the table.

By Nicki on Thursday, June 21, 2007 - 12:51 pm:

I've had her on my mind so much. I hope she's okay.

By Vicki on Thursday, June 21, 2007 - 01:58 pm:

I also think the boy might have said much more than they are saying to the public. They don't make everything in a investigation public. From everything I have read about Cotts, I wouldn't call him "upstanding" by a long shot. Also, being a police officer, I would think he would know how to do things and cover the tracks. He knows much more than the average person about investigations etc. I hope for the little boy that I am dead wrong about Cotts, but there is a nagging feeling inside of me that he had something to do with it even if he didn't so it himself.

They just came on tv and said they have found a spot of freshly dug dirt less than a mile from her home. They are clearing the area of searchers and media. No other word yet other than freshly dug dirt.......

By Vicki on Thursday, June 21, 2007 - 04:34 pm:

Search temporarily called off due to severe weather in our area. I haven't heard anything more about the dirt area other than it is a 6foot by 3 foot area of disturbed dirt.

By Kaye on Thursday, June 21, 2007 - 05:18 pm:

Thanks for the updates Vicki, down here the only coverage we have gotten is from equisearch (tim miller's daughter was from this area)

By Bobbie~moderatr on Friday, June 22, 2007 - 11:13 am:

Responding to a reaction from private search dogs, an FBI evidence crew and investigators spent several hours examining freshly dug dirt in a field more than a mile from Davis’ home in nearby Lake Township.

Family members who were with the team that found the spot embraced when it was discovered. But the site turned out to be a marijuana plot, about 6-feet long and 3-feet wide, Stark County sheriff’s Capt. Gary Shankle said.

Newborn Does Not Belong To Missing Pregnant Woman

We all know the longer it takes to find her, the less likely a positive out come.. :( It has been 10 days since she has been heard from..

By Kaye on Saturday, June 23, 2007 - 07:53 pm:

By Mom2three1968 on Saturday, June 23, 2007 - 08:27 pm:

CANTON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities on Saturday arrested the boyfriend of a missing nine-month pregnant woman on murder charges and said they recovered a body believed to be hers.

Jessie Davis has been missing for a week from her home, where her 2-year-old son was found alone, his diaper dirty, bedroom furniture toppled and bleach spilled on the floor.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Department said a body was recovered in Summit County at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Authorities did not give a location but said they believed it to be Davis.

me here, wonder if updates will be on AMW tonight. They were supposed to run the story about her being missing. :(

By Kaye on Saturday, June 23, 2007 - 09:13 pm:

Bobbie what is amw?

On cnn right now they are having a little info. I looked at some website, they said that the missing comforter was the same color as the rug. Very sad.

AMW is Americas Most Wanted

This is sad and that poor 2 yr old will always somewhat remember this.
