The "ultimate" hand me down, funny

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive June 2007: The "ultimate" hand me down, funny

Well I already posted my ds is 8 today and tomorrow my dd will be 7. This year she put a few things together and said it's unfair he gets a new number and the next day she gets the number he just got done being. Ds said "the ultimate hand-me-down!" lol! Since he's the oldest I didn't know he knew what a hand me down was. Of course, I explained to dd 7 is still special because she hasn't gotten to be 7 yet. It must run in the family. My bil has 2 girls and for the last 2 weeks in july they are the same age. I know what you're thinking, and I guess we all deserve those "they figured out what causes that" jokes.

That is too funny! Bless her little heart!

Poor girl.... At least she gets a hand me down one and not a shared one... Even though you pushed that one did you, LOL..

Isn't it funny the things that they pick up and it is even funnier when they come up with ways to use terms when you least expect it...

That's funny, in my house, we had a similar problem. Cheryl was born in June 61 and Margaret was born in May 63. So, calendar-wise, Margaret's birthday comes before Cheryl's, right? Cheryl used to be so rankled that she was "older", but Margaret's birthday was before hers! I think my parents tried to explain that she still was the older one, but they were born in different years and different months, but for a while, it seemed she just didn't get it!

Lol Bobbie, they sure could have had a shared birthday! Dd was due on the 7th so we also could have had 2 kids the same age for a week. Oddly, most people thought it would be cool if they shared a birthday and I did not want that at all. Until this year they have always shared a party time, but had their own themes and cakes and everything.
