Company coming, but cleaning the garage?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive June 2007: Company coming, but cleaning the garage?
By Dawnk777 on Saturday, June 9, 2007 - 03:46 pm:

Graduation tomorrow. The inside of the house needs cleaning, so where is hubby? Out in the garage? So, I guess instead of sending people to the living room, I guess we should send them out to the garage instead? LOL!

I just wish he was in the house helping us, but he wants to finish. He is vacuuming the leaves, with the big vacuum cleaner and I'm getting tired of the noise, too.

Also, Mr. Allergy was sneexing horribly while pruning bushes, too. He is going to be miserable tomorrow. I'm sure all the dust in the garage is not helping matters, either.

ROFL...my husband does the exact same thing.

Have a great day tomorrow! :)

MEN :) You can't live with them and you can't live without them lol Have fun tomorrow!!

Well, he got a new tool chest, and he figures his brother will want to see it and BIL and SIL have an immaculate garage, so I suppose he wanted it clean. Our garage faces west, so it fills up with leaves, every fall! It's not a good thing!

LOL! What a riot! I WISH my hubby would be motivated to clean the garage! :) Have fun!!

Oh my gosh, YES! LOL My DH will start fixing something....but it's important to him, I guess. LOL

Hope you are having a good day!

Anytime we go on a trip, DH obsesses with how clean MY car (the family car) is. Let it be know that his car is usually a mess and mine is pretty clean. I'm running around trying to get everything packed, make sure we have everything, and he's wanting to vacuum and armorall my car. Drives me crazy! :)

Enjoy your clean garage!

My dh does the same thing. He helps don't get me wrong. But he will find like some big project to do right in the middle of us cleaning the house for company or something. Drives me crazy. I am all for deep cleaning ect... But lets get the house in decent order first! LOL!

Boy, does that sound familiar. It's not that he doesn't want to help, or that he doesn't think that he isn't helping. In fact, my guess is he thinks he is helping. My husband does the exact same thing, the garage, the shop, the storage area in the basement. Boys.

My dh does the same thing! I sometimes think he does that to get away from the frenzy inside as try to clean in a hurry. I get pretty frazzled before company comes!
I hope the graduation party was a lot of fun!

Their priorities are definitely NOT the same as ours! LOL! I have the same thing here. I work very long hours and he has a big break in the middle of the day (split shift). I would LOVE it if he would empty the dishwasher or fold some laundry. Instead, he's outside pruning bushes!

That's why God created Eve...He saw that Adam was hopeless without a woman! LOL!

By the way, congrats! Is it Sarah that is graduating? Way to go!

By Dawnk777 on Sunday, June 10, 2007 - 11:36 pm:

Yes, Sarah graduated. We got the house clean today. DH did help inside today. He got some Claritin yesterday, which really did help his allergies for 24 hours. Around the time everyone was leaving today, he felt symptoms coming back, so he took another. I'm amazed at how well it worked, too.

LOL! My dh is the same way. We just had my parents, and dh's parents come up over the last few weeks. Before they came, I told he we needed to clean up, he headed straight for the garage!! LOL.
