How to approach a money situation

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive June 2007: How to approach a money situation

Well I have my dogsitting problem solved for my doggies. We had a wonderful doggie playdate yesterday for an hour. My dogs know her dog, so that wasnt an issue. I just wanted my dogs to know where they were going so they would not be nervous being dropped off there. yes, I worry probably way too much about them.

I have not discussed money with this lady. I guess I just dont know how to approach it. I plan on paying her the same as she pays me, except times 2 as I have two dogs. She has not brought it up, either have I. Should I say something ahead of time, or just pay her when I get home.I dont know if she is expecting money, or doing it as a favor. Either way, she is getting Money LOL....

Last yr a friend watched one of my dogs, and she didnt want me to pay her at all. I went and bought her a 100$ gift card to Blockbuster and a $50 gift card to "Chili's".

Money is such a funny issue sometimes isnt it?

It is a funny issue! It's hard to bring it up and discuss it, too!

I would just pay her. She knows your going rate, so if she is expecting money, that is what she would expect. If she says on no I can't take that, you just simply say, dog sitting is my business and I can't have people doing it for free, it would be bad for business :)

Ditto Kaye, in every respect.
