Time magazine has an article this week on the "End Times", with some saying that it has already started. So, the question is: Do you believe we are nearing the end of the world?

I haven't read the article, but can answer from my own Christian perspective. Certainly, every day we are one day nearer the end times. The book of the Revelation in the Bible clearly describe the signs and unfortunately have been misinterpreted by many people...even the "Left Behind" series takes one interpretation of the many that can be made (i.e., post-millenial, pre-millenial, amillenial) and I am afraid that people have put a little too much stock in those books, forgetting that they are FICTION. And I might add...poorly written fiction at that.

The Bible tells us that the end of time is the ONE thing that God knows that Jesus does not and I believe that. Scripture also tells us that no one knows the hour or time when Christ will return, so I figure why worry about it. I'm secure in my faith and salvation, so I think "when" time will end is of little consequence to me right now. I'm ready!

Every generation has had theories that the end of the world will happen in their lifetime. So I choose not to waste time worrying over something that may or may not happen in the near future.

I did, however, enjoy reading the Left Behind series! :)

I read the article, and my 1st thought was that it's incrediably egotistical of Americans to think the end is coming because a few thousand people were killed here. It's awful, it's horrible, it's devastating, but much worse goes on in other parts of the world every day.

The articles information about some Christian churches supporting Israel was much more interesting to me. How strange for Jews to receive help from people who believe that help will result in the death of most Jews.

I found the article interesting, but I think I'm too skeptical to believe that we are entering the end of the world. I know that everyday I am closer to the end of my world, but I am trying to focus on the present and not worry too much about what the future holds. It has been said to me many times that I should not worry about what I can't control and I have tried to take that to heart. Maybe that's may be why I don't think about it.

I tried reading the first book of the Left Behind series, but couldn't get into it. I'll have to try reading it again someday.
