Terri, right or wrong? A poll

Moms View Message Board: The Kitchen Table (Debating Board): Terri, right or wrong? A poll
By Missmudd on Thursday, March 31, 2005 - 10:27 am:

I would just like a show of hands, in your opinion was it right or wrong for the feeding tube to be removed? I would like to keep this simple so just a right or wrong vote, we can keep the other thread going for debate.

My vote:

wrong

I can not answer on Terri's behalf since I do not know her, know all of the facts, etc: however if I were in Terri's place, after 15 years, I say RIGHT for me.
I also would be upset that my parents wanted to keep me alive in such a condition. Yes, life is life, but quality of life plays a factor. Above all, I would want my parents, my family, my husband to move on.

By Bobbie~moderatr on Thursday, March 31, 2005 - 11:16 pm:

Right and Annie I couldn't have said it any better.

By Bea on Friday, April 1, 2005 - 04:41 pm:

I am a liberal, a former Catholic... and a right to die advocate, who believes this case was an atrocity.
WRONG - WRONG - WRONG.
Terri was NOT brain dead.

By Ilovetom on Friday, April 1, 2005 - 11:28 pm:

Wrong.

By Unschoolmom on Saturday, April 2, 2005 - 06:46 am:

Letting someone go in what I understand her state was, was the right thing.
Having to do it by removing the feeding tube was wrong.

By Breann on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 - 05:12 pm:

WRONG
WRONG
WRONG
She was not brain dead.

By Sue3 on Friday, April 15, 2005 - 11:02 pm:

Right.

By Juli4 on Sunday, April 17, 2005 - 01:16 pm:

wrong she was not actively dying. bad quality of life? yes she did have a bad quality, but she was not brain dead or dying. She was killed by witholding food and water. IT is not like treatments were stopped or a machine was breathing for her.

By Cocoabutter on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 - 10:43 pm:

WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

for SOOOOOOOO many reasons.
