Sorry.....

Moms View Message Board: The Kitchen Table (Debating Board): Sorry.....
By Boxzgrl on Monday, October 4, 2004 - 11:21 am:

I'm just going to apologize to everyone about my attitude on the "Who will you vote for?" thread. I won't apologize for my thoughts because they are very true but I could have worded it a bit nicer. I been extremely stressed lately with things here at home and it almost seems like I came on here to get my frustrations out, but for the wrong reasons and to the wrong people.

And for regards to the war, I think i'm a bit jumpy on that subject just due to the fact that I went through A LOT last year during war times. Saying bye to DH at 5 months pregnant, not eating for days at a time because I was so upset that i'd lose him, having constantly changed dates as to when he'd be home, his commanding officer "promising" to get him home for the birth of our baby which never happened so he wasn't there for that, dealing with extreme post partum depression and wondering if DH would ever come home and finally adjusting to DH being home and some of the aftermath that came along with him being in a war was a bit to adjust to. Sowhen I see all that Dh and I gave for DH to fight in a war I tend to get a bit upset when I see people that are against it.

I'm noy saying i'm right or wrong but I am truly very sorry about my "politics attitude" and will try to stay away from things that are very personal to me.

It's ok Melissa, I'm sure we've all lost our cool on here at some point. Thank you for the apology... :) I hope you are feeling better soon.

I hope things are better with your family. I want to thank you and your family (and any other military family) for making this world a safer place for my children to grow up in.

You were standing up for your views and there isn't anything wrong with it at all.

Just because...I frequent another board that made that look like preschool stuff, so it's touchy all over. :)

No problem, Melissa. I know that feelings run high on both sides of any political issues, and stress tends to make things more volatile. Even though you and I have differing opinions regarding which candidate would be best for our country, I certainly respect you and others who don't see things as I do.

I don't think you said anything wrong. You were standing up for what you believe. That is one of the things that makes this country great, we can voice our opinions.
I can not even begin to know how you felt having your dh over in Iraq, let alone being pregnant at the time. You sacraficed a lot for this country & I think reguardless of how we feel about the war we can all appreciate what your family has done.
