I'm so excited! I really need a relaxing weekend away from home. And hubby and kids decided to take me to Pigeon Forge for my birthday this weekend. We are going to leave tomorrow morning and spend the night and come back Sunday afternoon. We have season passes to Dollywood, so we'll check out what new rides are running this season. We only live about 2 and a half hours away, so I'm excited. I just booked our room, and the weather is supposed to be in the upper 70's and 80's!

This is the first time they have ever done something so nice for my birthday and I am thrilled!

You will LOVE it! I haven't been there in years, but I loved it! Have fun - and Happy Birthday!

We go several times a year usually, but since we are saving for our beach vacation, we haven't gotten to go since our Thanksgiving trip to the Dixie Stampede Christmas show last year. That was a very hectic trip, so I am looking forward to a much more relaxed trip this time around.

Thanks Karen. My birthday is April Fool's Day! LOL!

Hope you have a GREAT time!!! I've never taken a trip for my birthday. I think that would be very fun! (I haven't been to Gatlinburg in YEARS. I bet it's neat!!)

We've eaten at the Old Mill lots of times! Breakfast there is wonderful, too! We always try to get a table overlooking the river. And we always go to the Old Mill General Store for the kids to get a little bag full of the polished rocks. Then we go to the Old Mill candy shop for our pound plus a half pound free (with a coupon) of homemade fudge! The kids love looking around the candy shop. We always bring my dad fudge back for watching our pets.

Isn't it crazy that in an area with so many places, we both have a common favorite?!?!

I just finished packing, and the kids are sound asleep. Just found out that dd has suddenly outgrown all of her shorts from last year!!! She hasn't had a growth spurt like that ever! But we managed to find some warm weather clothes to do her for the weekend. Thank goodness I tried the clothes on her before I packed, though!

I'm so excited! We'll be leaving early a.m. so I'll post when I get back!
