Vent away, Tria. But are you going to tell us why you're venting?

By Annie2 on Sunday, March 19, 2006 - 08:31 pm:

Vent away, of course. Please share! LOL Everyone else does!

I visit another message board occasionally because I was asked to provide car seat and child passenger safety advice. This weekend a mother explained her situation and asked what her options were. In great detail I explained her options with links to pertinent information, recommended seeking help from CPS Techs in her area, and stated that if none of the options worked and the CPS Techs were unable to help then a different/bigger vehicle would be necessary. She was happy to learn of options she was unaware of and graciously thanked me for my help. That was all fine and dandy until a different mother stepped in and gave me a piece of her mind that was totally unwarranted. She obviously had not read my entire post and wasn't aware of the whole situation. Besides the fact that is was none of her business. Very frustrating. Makes me wonder why I bother. :( In fact, my certification is up in May and I'm debating whether I'm going to renew or not.

Trina, there are always rude busybodies in the world - more on the internet than in "real" life, I think, because it is so easy and so anonymous. But please, you are such a great resource, not only at Momsview but in general. I know my daughter-in-law was thrilled when I sent her the links to the websites that you had given me, and I have bookmarked them and share them with lots of people, all of whom are grateful.

And besides, you can always come to Momsview and vent.

I have to chime in, too. You are sooo helpful. You've helped me personally, and because of you and your posts, you've helped me help others. I really appreciate your knowledge and your help. Thank you.

THANKS for the support! It means a lot. :)

Trina,
Please do get re-certified. You know there aren't enough good certified techs, so please do not allow someone's ignorance to deter you. I'll admit that when I first joined I thought you were a bit over-zealous, but I was a new mom, and have valued every piece of information you've given us here. You've even turned me into a bit of a car seat activist, because it pains me to see how many people are either not using the proper seats, or using the seats improperly, and putting their precious children at risk. ((((Trina)))) Don't let her get to you!

By Annie2 on Monday, March 20, 2006 - 10:48 pm:

Trina, don't you dare let that ignorant woman deter you from getting recertified. You have been a pillar of strength and carseat advocacy, her at MV alone. Not to mention the ripple effect you have had on all of us.

You care about what you do: as a mom, wife and a certified tech, and it certainly shows.

Vent away anytime, of course, but don't let one anon person deter your great work! :)
