Why is it that when you don't put your kids in car seats, it's not considered reckless endangerment????

People like that make me so mad I would love to just slap them!!!!! I am glad the kids are not hurt any worse than what they are. I cannot imagine not having jade in a car seat that girl would be a wild indian in my van!

What really ticks me off is that the mom will be charged with a misdemeanor and fined maybe 75 bucks when this should be a clear cut case of reckless endangerment. I mean, if you are drunk and driving and hit someone causing injury or death, the penalties are much harsher. Why shouldn't that be the case where child restraints are concerned?

I guess the fact that she was on a cell phone doesn't enrage me as much as the fact that the 2 year old wasn't even in a car seat.

I would like to write my representative about this. Any thoughts on what I should say?
