Would you mind helping me with some paint colors I posted on the photo board? And be HONEST. If you dont like any of the colors then please tell me!!!!

Do you have to paint the trim first? Would you spray the trim if you could?

Also, I am going to post of pic sometime today of some wallpaper that ripped and has to be replaced. I think I know what I want to do, but would like your opinion/suggestions... I'll do that in a little while!

Thank you so much for any advice!!!

I always paint the trim first. I would never spray the trim. I am just not a fan of spraying.
I posted advice on the photo board. My greatest piece of advice? Enjoy the process! It is fun to paint and change the look of your rooms. Paint is an inexpensive change. If you don't like it, it is easy to change. If you have a big fear of it, paint a few areas and live with it a week or so to see if the colors are favorable.
HAVE FUN!

OK< thanks for all of your help Yvonne!! I am still tossing around the idea of painting it red... I suppose I could do 2 walls taupe and 2 walls red in kitchen? I ran back to the store and picked out a red color swatch that matches the dining room and it is really a deep dark red... (burgandy)

Maybe I will paint below the chair rail in dining room w/ diff greens like you did with your browns? Instead of painting it taupe in my dining room....

I do have one more question about the dining room. Will it look dumb to have the wall textured and painted below chair rail and the top of wall is all smooth wallpaper? You know what I mean? Thanks for putting up with all my questions!

Below the chair rail: It will look good if you keep it in 2 tone with 2 colors similar. In this case you choose on same color swatch-1 shade lighter/1 shade darker.

Personally I love reds in dining-rooms & kichens. If you look in current decorating magazines you will see it is a growing trend.

I have never done 2 walls one color & 2 another. I have done 3 one color and the 4th an accent wall. You use the subtle color (taupe) on the 3 and the more dramatic (red)one on the 4th wall.
