Need suggestions

on what I can do for my neighbors. Yesterday I went to take my dks to school and my car wouldn't start. Dh was already in St. Louis. Urgg..It couldn't happen on the weekend when he was home. I asked my neighbor to give me a jump. He told me to take his wife's car and drive my dks to school, and he would take care of my car. It ended up being a problem with the starter and not my battery. Well, he was off yesterday, so they insisted I use one of their cars while my car was being fixed. Then, they took me to pick up my car when it was ready last night. I want to do something for them. I thought about cooking a meal for them. They have 2 little dks at home and I know she is busy with them. What do you think? They helped me soooo much. With no family here and dh gone, I would have had to try and find someone to pick up my ds's from school, and find some way to pick up my car. They made it so much easier for me by letting me use their car. Any suggestions on what to do for them?

A meal would definitely be nice, or a restaurant gift card/pizza certificate or something like that. A Blockbuster card and some snack food for the movie would also be nice, along with a thank you card.

I think a heartfelt Thank You card would be sufficient, that and perhaps returning the favor by watching their kids or helping out somehow.

I would say anything that gives them time. Like babysitting, cooking, or eating out.

I think a batch of homemade cookies or brownies would be nice.

I am always game for a bottle of wine. lol I love to see my neighbor walking up to my door with a bottle of wine for us to try. And I dont even deserve it!

How about a gas card or a free car wash card tucked inside a Thank You card?

Thank you for the suggestions. Ds wants to make cookies. So, I think I will take them some cookies and a Thank You card.

How wonderful that you have neighbors that are so generous and helpful!! I think the Thank You card and cookies will be nice, and of course, let them know they can call on you if they ever need a favor in return.

Gary fixed a computer, for one of my co-workers. He didn't want any money for it. She gave us a thank-you card with a $25 Applebee's gift card inside! We LOVE Applebees!

(Only thing is, we tried to use it on Sunday and they were closed, due to a water-heater malfunction!)

That was so nice of your neighbors! I would make them a pot of chili. If they have little kids, not having to cook would be such a treat!
