Camera tips? Taking pics / Posting pics...

I am thinking about selling my Nikon coolpix camera as it is a few yrs old now. I am thinking about just getting the newer Nikon coolpix camera that has video and sound. Since for some silly reason mine has video and *no* sound? Does anyone have this camera by any chance? Do you like it? The only other one I have had a chance to look at is the Canon. And I dont even remember the name, I think it was a *sure shot* or *power shot*? I dont know...

When you take pics that you will upload to the computer is there a setting I should have my camera set on to make the uploads easier, better quality, etc...??

Or is there something I should change when I go in and resize them after they are uploaded? I am having to make my pics really small to get them uploaded and then they look blurry/fuzzy...

Anyone have any advice/tips for the camera challenged. I have also been having a hard time taking pics of items that I am auctioning on EBAY. ugh My pics look pretty bad. I cant figure out whether its better to have no back lighting and use the flash, dont use the flash and have back lighting? I am really not into playing around with diff settings on my cam as I am scared I will screw it up somehow.

Thanks for any help!

We have a nikon coolpix camera. It takes video with sound. We really love it. The pictures are always crisp and clear. It's easy to operate and a breeze to download the pics onto the computer. We order prints through snapfish.com, or from the little digital thing at wal-mart. They always come back so nice.

I don't have any complaints :)

Brandy, it is 4.0 megapixels. I finally found my box in the back of my closet that has the manual in it. *blushing*

Right now I am re-sizing with the dell picture studio that came on this pc. Will it be better to go to a cruncher type site before uploading here? I am just wondering how everyone else can get large clear pic's uploaded here and I have to make mine smaller and smaller everytime. argh

Breann, if I get the newest Nikon Coolpix it will be my 3rd one! lol I actually do like how easy they are to operate. My first one got salt water in it at the beach- dont ask... So I replaced it with this- which *was* the newer one at the time a couple of yrs ago. Now I am not liking that it doesnt have sound when doing video clips and I think I need more megapixels. I am not really into photography at all so I never play around with the diff settings on this cam. I could probably take better pics if I new what the heck I was suppose to be doing. lol
Glad to hear you are happy with yours!

Brandy any tips would be greatly appreciated. :)

I use paint which comes on the computer already..mine anyways but it's about 4 years old if not more? Anyways i just go into paint and go to image at the top then stretch/skew and make sure i put it the same as eachother i usually do 25% for both go to save as... not save and see if that's good if not go back to the original picture and go to say 15% i don't know for sure what percentage you would need with a 4 megapixel but with my 8 megapixel that's what i do..hope this helps = ) you could probably do 50% smaller though too just practice with it and let us know..
