for it to cook! Duh. I made chili in the crockpot this afternoon and realized about 45 minutes ago that I didn't turn the silly thing on! :)
At least it's chili with the ground beef browned so it won't take too long to heat up on high!

LOL! Yes, as great as the crockpot is, usually it works much better if you turn it on! I have done silly things like that! Thank goodness the meat is already browned and it is something like chili and not something like I made yesterday like barbeque ribs! Then you could have been more upset with yourself!

You have NO IDEA how many times I've done that!! LOL

I've done it too. In fact, my new one has a timer that shuts it off, sometimes before the food is done so even turning it on doesn't necessarily mean that the food is cooked! :)

LOL :)

I did this last week. I put a roast in the crock pot and the family and I went swimming. We came home starving and ready to eat. It was then that I discovered I hadn't plugged it in.

Oh no! LOL! Sometimes I get the food all ready, ahead of time, and then forget to put it IN the crockpot, in the morning. Argh!

Oh God, I did that once too. When I use to work full-time, my sil turned me onto crockpots.

One day, I did the usual routine of gathering and putting all the ingredients together, placing them into the crockpot, covering it and putting it on just before leaving for work. I bragged to my coworkers about having dinner already done by the time I would get home. When I came home I noticed that the familiar smell of something cooking was nowhere to be found. I went to check on the crockpot only to discover that I had never put it on! My coworkers asked how my dinner was the following morning and I told them about my little mishap. Everyone cracked up laughing including myself.

I have sooo done this, too...with the crockpot, the toaster, the microwave, the oven, the iron.....
