Front loading washing machines?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive March 2006: Front loading washing machines?

I know this has come up before. My youngest got hit with the stomach flu last night - all night and my washing machine transmission is dying. So we are getting a new machine tomorrow. Any features I should look for? I do an average of 3 loads a day, sometimes more, never less.

Do a "Keyword Search' along the left column to bring up previous threads about front loaders.

I have a Kenmore Elite HE3 set and LOVE them!

We just had our new front loaders delivered 2 days ago. We chose the Whirlpool Duets in pewter with the heater. As far as we can tell they are awesome but we have only done like 5 loads. We opted for the more expensive one with the heater because I liked the idea of having a sanitary cycle for when dh comes in from the field.

I said "we have only done like 5 loads" and I should have said "dh has only done like 5 loads." I don't know how to turn in on yet. He has not shown me how yet, ha ha!

I have heard that the LG front loaders are excellent. I am planning on buying these in June! Goodluck

I have the Whirlpool duets. LOVE them! Laundry has always been the chore I hate the most. The new washer & dryer make my life much easier. Now if they could just come up with a machine that folds it too :)

i have the maytag set and love them ... remember u ahve to use the special HE soap in them... but u use alot less and my clothes are so clean and dont wear out as fast

We bought a Kenmore front loading machine last fall. I use the HE detergent. It is actually going to sustain my dryer because it spins so much of the moisture out before I put the clothes into the dryer. (I wanted to buy a matching dryer when our washer died.)

Thanks, dh is going out now to look at them.
