What Game Involves a 'Squidget'?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive March 2006: What Game Involves a 'Squidget'?

I don't know if I'm spelling that correctly, but my DD wants to figure this out to win candy. Her clues are that it's a game involving this piece or term, the pieces are mostly red and small, and it can also be a sport, and it rhymes with 'twinkie'. Any idea?

I've googled several spellings and have gotten nothing. Good luck!

Could it be tiddlywinks? The game of tiddlywinks uses a "squidger" to play the game pieces, which are small, colored plastic discs called "winks".

I was thinking tiddlywinks, also, but I've only played with multicolored disks, not mostly red. I had no idea about a squidger or squidget being part of the game, though.

????? now I know more than I ever thought I would about tiddlywinks, lol! But "rhymes with *twinkie*" ?!?

Did you ever find the answer to this question?? Like the others, I tried searching, but no luck. Now I am curious!!

By Kate on Friday, March 3, 2006 - 09:09 am:

Yes, it was tiddlywinks!! Thanks so much!! :)

Did you tell the teacher that does not rhyme? By definition to rhyme means to have the same ending sounds, and inkie, is not the same as winks. It does however have a similar vowel sound and alliteration :)
