Gumbo was fixed today

and they took his balls right off! When our sheperd was neutered they emptied his testicles but left the sacs there.
I'm thinking they did it this way for him because he's such a tiny breed with a bit more hair to cover the empty spot!
And my dh thought his "V" was rough! LOL

LOL! My Jack Russell also lost his bag of goodies. I didn't know they did it any other way! :) He was devastated for about a week...it was SO WEIRD! He sat up half the night in bed just staring into space. We joked that he was going through some issues about losing his goodies. It was hilarious!!

Gumbo is fixed everyday here in Louisiana.

Oh!! I thought this was the "what's for dinner" post---:)

Poor baby. Men and their stuff! LOL. I've never known them to do anything but cut off the testicles and scrotum anyway. I've never heard of a vet leaving anything left dangling. Hope your puppy is feeling better soon, but good for you for having him neutered.

LOL...your last sentence just cracked me up!!

I have never known them not to be removed totally either.

ROFLOL!!! Too funny. Hugs to Gumbo. :)

Annie,
It's funny you mention that, because we have sugar gliders, and there is much debate over leaving the "pom" when neutering them. (Ours has his, and with other animals I'd always thought they just took it all). We might be "inheriting" my BIL's cat, who we call Cotton Balls, because he's all white with black rings around his eyes, and black on his, um... balls. We'd have to get him neutered, and find a doc to leave the sac! Anyway, just thought I'd share, you aren't the only one out there that considers these things!

Pam, too funny!

Gumbo is doing fine. Too fine, that is. We have to make sure he doesn't overdo with playing and running around.

Okay, I know what this thread is about, but everytime I come here, since this morning, I keep thinking somebody made soup! LOL!

I didn't go on this thread until today because I love gumbo and just thought it would be a recipe.

I keep putting off having my puppy neutered. It hurts me to do that to him but I know I need to. He's not a pure breed or anything, just darn cute.

I got to go through one heat cycle with Jasmine. Too messy for me and too much responsibility to watch her carefully outside. I hated taking her in to be spayed, but I'm glad it's over with. She recovered quickly and had no complications. She was spayed almost 2 years ago.

LOL, Pam. I guess we had the same idea. :) I have been wanting some Gumbo and thought I was going to find a great Gumbo Recipe on here. :)

(I live in LA and made Gumbo once...Can't find the recipe. Drat!)

So did I! LOL :) Besides that, I thought you meant it was so hot that it took your dh's .... right off! *blush*
