5 things that make me happy

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive March 2006: 5 things that make me happy
By Bellajoe on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 - 05:47 pm:

These are usually fun to do:

Five things that make me happy:

1. seeing my dd (6) read a book to my ds (5)
2. Sitting on my patio on a summer day when there is not one cloud in the sky and it is neither too hot nor too cold and there is a slight breeze, having a daquiri.
3. days when everything seems to be going right.
4. free stuff.
5. my sister and her family

By Kaye on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 - 06:07 pm:

1. My children actually doing what I ask them to
2. A clean house
3. lunch with friends
4. a thoughtful gesture from my hubby
5. tennis

I guess I should be happy that the question wasn't what of the above things have actually happened this year..LOL.

My kids are having a day, actually a week, and their stuff is trashed and it is driving me CRAZY!!

By Colette on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 - 06:08 pm:

1. dh just being dh. After 16yrs, he almost always makes me smile without even trying.

2. My dks, esp. when my youngest comes up behind me and hugs me for no reason.

3. Sitting on my deck, in front of a fire, with a drink and dh. Before the mosquitoes come.

4. Kayaking alone - very peaceful.

5. The ocean - seeing it, smelling it, listening to it, just being near it.

By Breann on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 - 07:28 pm:

This is fun! I wish I could list more than 5 :)

1-My Family. DH and my kids are my whole entire life. They make me so happy.

2-Shopping. I love to shop and to pick out things for our home.

3-Vacations. I look forward to our annual family vacation every year.

4-Summer nights without any mosquitos. Love to sit on the patio and enjoy the smells coming from the bbq. Just after sunset is always the best time.

5-Dessert. Unfortunately, it makes me happy! Love to dig into something yummy! Such a sweet, carefree feeling!

*if I could add one more, I would choose the ocean :) It is so amazing. I could sit there for hours and just look.

I hope you all know that i was being silly when i put "free stuff" on my list. I'm not really that shallow...but i do like to get stuff for free...who doesn't?

I'd like to add to my list:
* my friends. We have know each other since preschool. We still get together and have a GREAT time! We laugh the entire time. I also love the fact that our husbands get along very well.

* Sanibel Island Florida. Once we must have been there right after a storm. There were mounds and mounds of shells on the beach. You couldn't even see the sand below.

* Disney World with my family. It sounds cheesy but it really was *Magical*

* Being a stay at home mom.

* my kids when they play so nicely together

* my two yr old twin neices saying "hi aunt patti!" on the phone. they are 4 hours away and i miss them soooo much.

I really needed this list today, and reading all your lists really help me feel better.

By Bellajoe on Thursday, February 23, 2006 - 04:27 pm:

oh go ahead, post as many as you want. I'm glad more than five things make us happy! :)

here is more from me:

Waiting for my dd to get off the bus and then seeing her with a big smile on her face

having other children tell me how nice my dd is and how they like to play with her

a nice quiet house (dd is still at school and ds is at grandma's)

reading books to kids and having them listen so contently and then burst out laughing at just the right parts...i volunteer at dd's school library and today i read a book to two separate kindergarten classes. They are so cute and are great listeners...well most of them are.

rollercoaster rides

swiimming with my kids in the summer. and seeing them get all excited when i tell them that "yes, mom will go down the waterslide too!"

selling our house to a nice couple and having them be so excited and so in love with the house. I know it will be taken care of.

By Cocoabutter on Thursday, March 2, 2006 - 01:23 am:

1. Hugs from ds.

2. Staying up all night with dh watching movies.
