My poor dd is as white as a sheet. She has a high fever, vomiting, headache, and says her neck hurts. She's also very sensitive to anyone touching her. I don't know if I should take her to the doctor or not. She's 13. What do you all think???

Yes, i would suggest to take her to the doctor, how long has she been like that? How high is the temperature? Is she sensitive to light too? It's always best to be on the safe side.

I hope she gets better soon. We are just reovering from the flu here. My son had high temperature for over 4 days. Thank God now he'd better.

This started last night. Her temp has been almost 102. Her lips are really red. I'm not sure if the light is bothering her. It's not really high but she is just miserable.

DOCTOR OR ER ASAP. If her neck hurts, on top of a high fever, I'd head for the ER right away. I sort of don't want to worry you and do want to worry you, but among the many causes there could be, one of them could be meningitis - especially with the stiff neck and sensitivity to touch. If it were me (having had to take an adult son to the ER where the diagnosis was indeed meningitis), I would call the pediatrician right away AND head for the ER.

Ditto, what Ginny said. The high fever and the stiff neck would make me take my kid to the doctor to make sure it wasn't meningitis, too!

Ds had a fever and headache last weekend. DD had the same on Thursday and Friday...now dh scik...which is the worst!

A high fever and red lips sounds like it could be strep...and she'd need antibiotics. If it is influenza, she could have tamiflu to shorten the duration...either way, I'd take her in. Let us know what you find out...{{{HUGS}}}
