Does anyone have a Rotisserie?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive February 2006: Does anyone have a Rotisserie?

I ordered this one and received it this week. I have not yet had a chance to unpack it and use it.

Rotisserie

I bought it for two reasons I love, love, love Rotisserie chicken. We have a restuarant here called Swiss Chalet and I was totally addicted when I was preggers with Matthew and second my Mom has one and swears by it. She cooks everything in it, even turkeys.

Do you have one? Do you like/love it? Why?

I'm not sure which one you got....the link takes you to their main page.
I have the Ronco set it and forget it and I absolutely love it. I don't like Turkey any other way. I have made chicken before and it was very juicy. We usually make our chicken on the BBQ (beer can chicken) though. I can't wait till next week, we are getting a bbq.

Funny, the link works for me. We bought the compact Ronco, you can do a 10 lbs. Turkey. I don't usually like turkey, it's too dry. I'll have to try in the rotissere.

Any favourite ideas, suggestions or recipe ideas?

Thanks for sharing.

I don't have one, but we used to go to Swiss Chalet w/ dh grandparents when we would visit them in Lauderdale. Always had to get there for the "early bird" special! LOL Thanks for the memories!

I have the Ronco Set it and Forget It. It works great. I mostly use it for chicken.

I have a rotisserie - its not a Ronco (can't remember the brand). My Dad gave it to us for Christmas one year -- it sat in our storage closet for a couple of years until I thought I would use it . I made a chicken in it --- it was DELICIOUS.

Not sure if you can stuff the bird and rotisserie it or not -- if anyone has done this please let me know.

The directions say not to stuff the bird because it may not heat the bird all the way through.
