Snow Day!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive February 2006: Snow Day!

We are having a major winter storm here in WI today! It didn't look THAT bad at 5 in the morning, but we were supposed to get a lot of snow and it's supposed to get VERY windy later on, so I think that is why they cancelled school.

It is the first snow day we have had in a couple of years. Neither of the children believed us at first, when we told them they didn't have school! LOL! Then they were both saying, "Sweet!"

Although, Emily made banana bread in her family ed class on Tuesday and they were supposed to be able to eat it today. She is disappointed about that. She only has family ed every other day. Maybe they will be able to get some of it tomorrow. By Monday, it wouldn't be as good anymore.

Gary is out snowblowing now. We need to go to the grocery store. I was too busy to shop ahead of time, for food we would need today. Our grocery store is only a few blocks away, though.

I heard it might be blizzard conditions up by you, Dawn. Dh is at a conference in Milwaukee, he is suppose to drive home around 4pm today. I hope it isn't too bad there. We got lots of ice last night. I was kind of hoping for a snow day, but the roads were all clear this morning. We may get a few inches of snow tonight though.

Enjoy your day off!

Hope all of you have a safe and fun day!

It's bad. We have whiteout conditions. One of my coworkers isn't coming in, since she lives a few miles out of town, so guess what, I need to work now. I live within walking distance of the clinic. I can see it from my house. Yay. Hopefully, they close early. I sure wanted a day, where I didn't have to go anywhere!
