Looks like we're going to Myrtle Beach this summer... woo hoo! The girls and I are SO psyched up, we want to leave NOW!! DH is still not so sure, but I know he'll come around. I told him that next year we can go fishing in Wisconsin, if he still wants to. I also told him we could do some deep-sea fishing while at MB, but he didn't seem to be too interested in that. Now I need to find the perfect swimsuit... :)

How exciting. I have never bene to Myrtle beach. It is so fun making vacation plans.

Oh yippee!! I am so excited for you guys! Your hubby can always go fishing off one of the several piers. They supply the poles and bait and everything for a pretty good price. You can also fish offshore.

Now for the fun of planning your vacation. Let me know if you want any details on anything!`

Where are you staying??

By Pamt on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 - 08:28 am:

Sounds fun! I've never been there.

My dad used to take us to the beach every summer - we alternated Sanibel Island, FL and Myrtle Beach, SC. When we went to Myrtle Beach, we usually went with another doctor and his family who had like 6 kids. We rented a huge beach house that slept something like 15 or 18 people and stayed for a week. Wonderful childhood memories!

When we went to Sanibel, my uncle and family and grandparents joined us, again great memories.

However, I have not been to Myrtle Beach since the 60's. YIKES - I'm *really* dating myself. And I'm dying to go back. However I am totally spoiled by FL beaches. But the east coast beaches, though more *rocky* and not the white sand you find in FL, have better wave action.

We went to Sanibel last year twice, and next time we are going to stay in Captiva.

LOL Karen! Being a prairie girl, there's no danger of me being spoiled by any beach! I've been to the west coast and to the Gulf, but that's it, so we will be thrilled with whatever we find. :)
We'll be staying at the Dayton House, which seems to have a great reputation as a quieter family place. In fact, their policy says that no single person under 25 may stay there without a parent, isn't that wild! I think we may take in Medieval Times, go on a 1/2 day cruise to see dolphins, I want to see Pawley's Island, Barefoot Landing and, of course, eat tons of seafood!! Aside from that, who knows? I don't want to plan too much. We'll be there for 5 days. Plenty of time to mess around amd see the sights! We'll be driving, so we'll also be seeing a lot of country we've never seen before. :)

You'll be so happy with The Dayton House! Excellent Choice. It's a great place for families. If you guys like rides and such, you'll have to check out the Pavillion.

I've heard Murrel's Inlet has great Seafood, if you want made to order Seafood. But the best seafood buffet down there is Original Benjamin's. It is a HUGE place! They have any type of seafood you can imagine made any way you can think of with all you can eat crab legs. It's all buffet style. But it's expensive so you need to go to Restaraunt.com before you leave for your trip and get one of their gift certificates. I did that last year and it helped a lot on their costs. I get e-mails all the time, so when one comes around that their certificates are 60% or 70% off, I'll let you know, and you can check on it.

I know you guys will have a blast!
