Hope everyone enjoys their day today. Dh and I will be spending Valentines Day the same way we spent our Anniversary. At the Young Marines, sigh! Oh well maybe next time it won't be on a Tuesday, lol. What are you doing for Valentines Day?

By Karen~moderator on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 - 07:19 am:

Ummm...nothing special. Going to work. DH and I never make a big deal of Valentine's Day, we exchange cards and that's pretty much it. I even got him a card from the dog. ROFL

Valentines day is no big deal to me. I told my husband NOT to buy me candy. He gave me a card this morning. I did get my kids a small heart shaped box of candy. Tonight is girlcouts. We never go out and do anything on Valentines day, to me its just a Hallmark Holiday LOL

By Dawnk777 on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 - 07:35 am:

I used to get cards and one year got flowers, but not much happens anymore. We may try to get out to eat this coming weekend. Last weekend was way too busy. I know DH loves me, and he does show me that lots of different ways!

By Beth on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 - 07:56 am:

We are exchanging cards. I actually have to work tonight. I am flip flop back and forth between nights and days the next couple of weeks. It sucks. They just have not been able to fill my old job yet. Good thing I didn't have any plans since they just asked me yesterday.

By Reds9298 on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 - 08:14 am:

We don't do much for Valentine's Day anymore...just exchange cards and maybe some of our favorite candy. Our anniversary, valentine's day, and my birthday are all within 3 weeks of each other, so we finally decided a few years ago to blow off V-Day. We'd rather do something special for the other days!!

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!

We exchange cards, and I always get him something small. He believes that guys shouldn't get anything, because it's a girls holiday. He usually gets me flowers, but this year he got me a Zen!! I wanted something to workout with, and I mentioned it when I first started, but haven't said anything since. I bought a red teddy for tonight. I am his gift.

Here is what my Zen looks like. Now, I need to figure out how to use it.
ZEN

By Karen~moderator on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 - 08:56 am:

What's a Zen?

Jen - at the ripe old age of 21 - told me Sunday that she *doesn't believe in Valentines Day* - that it's *a Hallmark holiday that was created just to make you feel guilty and spend money you don't have*. ROFL

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!
We just exchange cards here and get the kids a little something.
I made up candy bags and cupcakes for DD Pre-K Class and all my kids on the bus. All the kids are so excited on the bus. And after their party today they will be all sugered up and fun on the way home! LOL:)

By Rayanne on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 - 09:44 am:

Karen, a ZEN is a MP3-Player.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

We went to dinner Saturday night with no kids. Another couple went with us. We had a really good time.

Sunday my Mom brought each of the boys a heart shaped box of candy. :)

Last night Blake and I made the airplane's that Tink posted a few weeks ago off the Family Fun site. He had so much fun helping make those and he was so excited to take them to school with his Valentine's this morning. :) Thanks Tink! ;) Then we made pink rice krispie treats. Brad has a shirt on order from Abercrombie Kids clearance sale. (on clearance and it was still $28.00 I hate that place!! lol) It isnt here yet so I had to tell him this morning what his gift will be. He was very excited (as he knows I have something against Abercrombie lol ). Everyone is getting a new shirt from me this yr. (all my guys that is) They are all really into new clothes right now.
And dh always can use something new to wear to work.

When I walked into the kitchen this morning there was a huge bouquet of flowers on the table with a card from dh. I thought that was pretty sweet. Before he left for work he told me Happy Valentines Day and asked me out to lunch. He also invited me to go to England with him next month. He just found out he is going on a business trip there and told me to think about going along with him.

So, pretty good day here! :) This morning I making Texas Millionaires to take to my Mom and mil... I might run and get them a gift card so they can shop. I usually just call my Mom or send her flowers. But thought I'd go above and beyond. lol

Hope everyone has a GREAT day! :)

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Dh and I don't really "celebrate" Valentine's Day. We do get each other a card, but that is about it. Our anniversary was last week, so we are going out to dinner this Friday, to celebrate that. I did make my dks a goodie bag of books, valentine pencils, stickers, etc, that I gave them this morning.

I hope everyone has a fantastic day.

Happy Valentine's Day!

DH got me 2 boxes of Godiva chocolate (I don't like Godiva but it's the thought that counts, right? :)) and a teddy bear and a huge card. He also bought one of my favorite, more expensive bottles of wine in case I want a glass but i'll have to think about that. I just got him a card and DD and I are making him Valentine's cupcakes today. Our real celebration comes this weekend on our marriage retreat. I have a few things up my sleeve for that (ah hem... like some new lingerie!) LOL.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I'll admit to being a sap and loving Valentine's Day. DH and I already exchanged gifts and we'll be going out this week to dinner since he has to work this evening. I got him a watch and a model car he's been wanting and my gifts were Starbucks' pink tumbler thermos and the first season of Grey's Anatomy on DVD. :) I didn't even have to ask for it! I've written twenty things I love about him, attached them to Hershey's kisses and put them all over the house for him to find when he gets ready for work.

Conni, I'm so glad to hear that Blake liked the planes so much and I'm so excited that you're getting to go to England!! Wanna tuck me into your luggage?:)

Card from my son

Outside: Happy Valentine's Day, Mom, from your child - your reason for living, your reason for breathing

Inside: - your reason for screaming, your reason for naging, your reason for premature graying, your reason for --- well ... you get the idea. Anyway, sorry 'bout that.

Love you, Mom

Valentines also is a very special time for our family because it's my oldest DD's birthday. She's 17 today. It's also the day we got engaged. My DD's and I Always get flowers from my Dh. We gave both girls money so they can buy what they want. My Dh kinda feels it's a girl's holiday also.My DD's friends had a surprise party for her on saturday at our house and normally we go out to eat on this day as a family and invite other family members but, both the DD's are wrestling managers and they have an away match tonight so by the time they get back home it will be to late to do anything. We will probably go some were this weekend.

I am a sap too. I am in the process of planning dinner and making dessert. I always do a "theme night" for vday. This years theme is country. Hubby typically will pick up whatever I order, but the place I have ordered from is the wrong way for him, so I have been trying to figure out the whole when I pick it up business. I always make a dessert. So I am buying bbq, his favorite. I am making cobbler (peach and apple, mine and his fav's..lol). We used to go out pre kids, but that just drives me nuts. I hate dealing with all those people. But I also don't cook, so it works out. I spend a lot of time decorating...LOL. I have bandanas for napkins, blue jean placemats. I will dress for the occasion (boots and jeans). Play country music. I set a kids table too, but we dine in different rooms, a little more romantic that way...LOL. The only thing I have left to do is decide on our drinks. Beer is the best fit, but not really my favorite, I might just go buy a bottle of red wine, or maybe some cheap boone's farm...LOL. Anyway he will get me chocolate and roses, it is in our prenup..LOL. He typically gets me a card and a gift. I make him a card and I ordered for him a pair of "iboxers". boser briefs with a pocket for his ipod. They didn't make it in though, so I will have to cut out a pic and wrap that.

Well big bummer. As I was heading out to get food my phone rings. My DH calls. He will be working late, very late tonight. He is a chem eng and they were working on something that was supposed to be finished by 1 (which give them hours to have things go wrong), but they have gone very very wrong and isn't anticipating being able to leave until closer to 8 or 9. Sucks! Oh and I started my period. Happy Valentines Day to me!

By Tink on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 - 06:53 pm:

:( So sorry, Kaye. We can be eating our V-Day dinners alone together 1500 miles apart. I love the themed dinner idea. If my dh ever gets off this evening shift, I'm going to be all over that idea!

By Annie2 on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 - 07:17 pm:

Dh is away until Thursday. Before he left I snuck candy and a card into his luggage.
He sent something to me but it hasn't come yet.

By Annie2 on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 - 08:49 pm:

My dh sent me a PajamaGram. A pink cotton robe with hearts on it came in an adorable hatbox sized basket with a note from dh.
This was very creative for him. I thought for sure he had sent me flowers. :)

Cori, He took his plane apart and *rebuilt* about 100 times this afternoon. lol We had to run in the store and he asked if he could take his plane with him and fly it around the store. lol Too funny! As for England *if* I go you are welcome to hitch a ride in my bag. But I have to warn you I dont pack light! ha I cant decide what to do. It's SUCH a pitb to make all the arrangements for kids, pets, etc... Plus its the week before spring break and the neighbors invited us to go skiing with them srping break. I am getting a little stressed, I cant figure out how it will all work out. argh Plus my ex informed he will be gone first 2 weeks of March. So no help from him with kids. His work keeps sending him to New Orleans and is starting to get hard for the kids I can tell when they know he is that far away.

Kaye, I hope your dh is home by now??? :(

Annie2, what a cool gift!! I'd say he gets some bonus points! lol

Rayanne, cool MP3!! I like that. :)
