Sony CyberShot Digital Cameras

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive February 2006: Sony CyberShot Digital Cameras

I've been looking at them because i'm ready for an upgrade but other than MP I don't know anything about them. I want one that makes professional grade pictures but not one with too many buttons and things to figure out. I know they range anywhere from $200-$600 but since I plan on keeping it for a while price isn't too much of a concern. Also, are they any home printers that work well with them or am I better off ordering prints online?

My boss just purchased a Sony Cybershot 7.2 MP, and paid between $300 and $400 for it. I am personally a fan of Sony digital cameras, among others. The Sony's take great pics. As far as printing, as has been discussed before on the board, the photos printed with inkjet printers can fade over time. You *might* be better off just getting professional prints made from the photos you take.

I have the 12 somthing cyber shot, Staples had a $50.00 rebate on top of a sale and I had a coupon so it was around 350.00, can't remember the exact model number but it has the highest zoom, which was important to me since my kiddos do a lot of sports, plus it has a decent quality video component for those unexpected moments. Just remember to by the big memory stick!

I'm with Karen, lots of ways to get professional prints now, better quality, and less $$

I have a Canon PowerShot A520. It's $200. I love it. It has a cord that connects right to any photo printer.

If you get a printer, it should be a photo printer. Some are better than others, but I have an Epson Stylus Photo R200. It's good, but it depends on the photo paper quality, too.

Some places give you a good deal on a photo printer when you buy the camera.
