ARRRGGGHHHHHH! Vent!!!!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive February 2006: ARRRGGGHHHHHH! Vent!!!!
By Crystal915 on Monday, February 6, 2006 - 04:37 pm:

Yet another crappy week on my hands!! First, we rented a TV for Super Bowl because all the ones in KS were sold out, or too expensive. The TV they delivered didn't work properly, so we ended up going a bit above our price limit, and buying a plasma Saturday night. Fine, but when we call to tell them the TV they rented to us is a POS, and we couldn't use it, they tell us no refunds, only service or replacement. Well, That's DH's battle, I don't have the patience for it. Not to mention the divorce thing with my friend (on prayer board) which has been a huge issue for a bunch of people, because DH and another NCO have to keep the soldier in line, and not allow him to stalk or threaten his wife. So, we're all on edge, and things get misunderstood, so N's Staff Sergeant (who is a friend of ours, the dad of the child I've been watching) get into it. We make amends, and clear up the misunderstanding, ok, fine. So, I got almost NO quality time with DH, and he has to stay in the field next weekend, so basically I'm on my own. Then today, I go to make donations at a DAV thrift store, and end up backing into another van, luckily it was not a major fender bender, little damage to our van, but her left taillight housing is ripped out. I was on my way to the chiro, who decided he didn't want to adjust me until he ran a new set of tests, because I was having neck pain after the accident. I've never been in an accident before, so I'm FREAKING out!!! Well, I get home, and before I even have a chance to report the accident, there is a voicemail from my insurance. The lady (military wife) and I had discussed getting an estimate first (which she agreed to, but must have decided to call anyway), because if I couldl pay out of pocket I'd rather do that than raise my ins rates. The only good news is if I have more damage to my neck from it, my ins will pay for the rest of my chiro care. I'm humiliated for doing something so stupid, and scared it's going to jack up my rates, and my stress level is at nuclear meltdown, so ARGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
Ok, I feel a bit better, just needed to get it off my chest.
A funny moment from all of this was explaining why I had to talk to the lady to my children. I kept saying "Everyone makes mistakes, and mommy had an accident, so I have to fix my mistake, and help the person who I hurt." (she wasn't hurt, her vehicle was empty) The rest of the afternoon they have been saying "Mommy made a boo boo... Mommy had an accident!!!!" Uh, thanks for reminding me!!!

What a bummer of a day! FYI, this seems to be a little known fact but if you are a Costco member (if you have a Costco in your area)you can return things to Costco anytime, as long as you have a receipt. It is no joke. One time when I was there, a man came in returning his 10 year old wooden pic-nic table. The legs were starting to rot off. Costco returned it and gave him full credit back for it. Costco is the ONLY place I will buy electronics because they change so much and you can upgrade pretty much for free there. I hope this tidbit can help you in the future.
:) Groove

Thanks everyone!!!! I'm trying to bring my blood pressure down from the stratosphere now! Cori, I've crossed someone, I even got into this accident while donating to a disabled vet thrift store, isn't that good for my karma?? Argh, I think I need to do some good deeds!!!

Groove, no Costco here, but it we ever end up near one I'll keep that in mind. The only problem with this was it was a short term rental for Superbowl, because we were planning on buying one but everyone was sold out. So... it's only $160, but it's the principle of the thing!! **sigh** pass the valium!!

I hope your day got better.

(((hugs)))

I've had days like this and sometimes the only thing that makes me feel any better is screaming into a pillow. Doesn't really help resolve the problem, but it feels good to let it out.

Of course, valium works well too...

Does the rental store carry anyting relaxing, like a jet tub, a sauna, a luxury bed?? You could use your credit for a well deserved night of relaxation!

What a week, does the fact that you have a Plasma TV and the Steelers won make it any better:)

By Crystal915 on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 - 01:13 am:

LOL... no Kym, and even if they did, I'd never give them my business again. (of course I only chose them because it was my LAST option at the time). They're being jerks about it, so we're contacting JAG, and a BBB complaint. I'm not even asking for a full refund, but I paid for a month, and got 2 hours worth of use, which was shoddy at best!!! GRRRRR. I love a good fight though, so this should get interesting. I AM excited about the plasma, it's AMAZING!!!!! The steelers are no big to me, I'm from the Philly area, and an Eagles fan, with the Colts as a secondary. The Steelers are the enemy now! ;)

So THAT'S what's up on the debate board! I get it now!

When it rains it pours. I rear-ended a lady a couple of years ago. She was sitting in the middle of the left turn lane, nothing coming, she could have turned, but she just sat there. I was turning left out of the same place she was supposed to turn left into, and I was watching traffic from the right cuz it's was busier from that way. It was lunch time, ya know.

So when we got that car fixed, our other car took a crap. Then we bought a truck, and dh had to replace the oil pan on it. BIG deal. Had to unbolt the engine and pull it up and almost out of the truck just to get the new oil pan between the engine and the frame. I helped him. It took an entire Saturday.

Every year, we have a big deal between Halloween and New Years. From Halloween it's ds' b-day, then Thanksgiving, then my b-day, my dad's b-day, then Christmas and New Years. I bought a new digital camera in October for holiday and b-day pics, then everything else went wrong. We had to replace a part on our computer, replace a part on our clothes dryer, and replace a battery in one of our cars, besides put together his b-day party and buy Christmas and b-day gifts, all the while still trying to sell our house. (Our listing ran out in December.)

Boy am I glad that's over.

So, it could always be worse :)

LOL Lisa,
I like and respect you, our debates on the debate board are nothing personal, IMO. I can debate like that with my best friends, but I don't have to agree with you to like you!! :) Anyway, everything is going better today, thankfully!!!!

I am sorry you had a cruddy day yesterday! Glad today is going better. :)

By Crystal915 on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 - 06:39 pm:

Not really, I spoke too soon. My best friend, the one who is divorcing, is moving back home soon. I've been in tears all day. Ugh... this month needs to hurry up and END!!! Thanks for all the hugs!

I thought of you today!

I had to take my ds to school to get his homework that he forgot, then we stopped off at the store a couple of blocks from our house. Then the starter went out on my car, so we left it in the parking lot and walked home.

Ds and dh are going away for the weekend, and I will be stuck at home with no car for the weekend, and until we can afford a starter.

I know what you could be thinking, but this trip means a lot to my ds, so the starter will have to wait. *sigh* :(
