Can I Superglue a Leather Chair?? Better Idea?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive January 2006: Can I Superglue a Leather Chair?? Better Idea?
By Kate on Monday, January 30, 2006 - 03:53 pm:

I have a leather office chair and smack in the middle of the seat is the start of a hole. Do you think I can squeeze in some superglue and stop it from spreading? My superglue says all the things you can use it on and leather is one of them. Funny, I figured it would EAT the leather. Have any of you done this? Can you think of a better solution?? I'm afraid that the stress and pressure of someone sitting down on it will break the hole apart again if I do glue it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You can buy leather patches at fabric stores, or Walmart's fabric section. I wouldn't superglue it, it's not likely to hold for long.

I have tried the leather patches and they don't work at all and then make it rough. Sounds like a job for DUCT TAPE!

How about that stuff they used to advertise on tv. Sort of a gloo that you can repair car leather with? Remember commercial.

doubt it works.

Ds made a whole in a kids vinyl chair. Nothing worked. But we didn't try super glue. Just tape.

leather repair
DH fixed our leather seat in the car with this one.
LM-1002 Standard Leather Repair Kit, it worked great a little pricey I thought, but it will make a few repairs.
Just an idea:)
