Exciting lunch hour

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive January 2006: Exciting lunch hour
By Tayjar on Friday, January 27, 2006 - 04:34 pm:

I ran errands on my lunch hour today. I parked my car in a different lot than I usually do. Right next to a bank. As I'm entering the parking lot on foot, cops start to swarm. It's then I notice the bank next to my car has been robbed and all heck is breaking lose. For all I know, I saw these two guys and didn't even realize it. We have bank robberies here about once a week so it's almost old news. I was about 5 minutes late getting out of the building or I may have been there when they entered and left the bank.

Here's the new story:
Police say robber was armed in Bloomington bank heist
01/27/2006 15:19:44

Bloomington police are investigating their third robbery this week. The Chase Bank at 413 East Washington Street was held up at about 11:20 a.m. Police say two black men were involved in the holdup, and reports say at least one of the man displayed a gun. The bandits dropped some of the cash on their way to a getaway vehicle. A witness says they saw the suspects leave in vehicle and threw a bag out the window. The bag contained a dye pack that had exploded. The suspects were dressed in all black with their faces partially covered. Both were said to be 17 to 20 years old, between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 foot 8 inches and both weighed 125 to 150 pounds. Police Spokesman Duane Moss says this holdup is unrelated to the robberies at a bank and loan company on Monday, and it's hard to say whether this signals a trend.

Whoa! Talk about just being in the right place at the right time.

There must have been an accident at the intersection to the north of my house, because as I'm pulling out of the driveway to take kids to school, I see a cop car, a fire engine, and a cop sweeping, what I assume to be broken glass.

We went the other way, though, so I don't know what happened.

Bloomington??? Ack! That's only 45 min. from me! Hope they don't walk up to my teller window... :(
