By Tink on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 12:33 pm:

I'm on my way to the grocery store and I'm out of ideas for dinner. Melissa's pot roast sounds good so I'll be sure to pick up the fixings for that but I'd love to get re-inspired to cook. I hate it. So what will you be eating tonight?

By Kernkate on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 12:50 pm:

I am making breaded boneless porkchops, mashed potatoes, corn and a toss salad.
We had a snowday today I was off work and the kids were off of school, so I actually have enough time to make and enjoy a meal:)

By Juli4 on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 01:01 pm:

taco salad for us. I have class tonight

By Enchens on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 01:04 pm:

Chicken soup. Dh and the boys have been under the weather this weekend.

By Heaventree on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 01:09 pm:

Moroccian Chicken and Quiona or Couscous with Fried Zucchini and Tomatoes.

By Happynerdmom on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 01:12 pm:

sage turkey cutlets, homemade mac & cheese, and broccoli.

By Colette on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 01:18 pm:

Jerk chicken sandwiches or buffalo burgers. Dh is snowboarding tonight after work so it's going to be a quick, easy dinner.

By Yjja123 on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 01:24 pm:

Dinner tonight is roast beef, roasted potatoes & green beans. Dessert will be sliced mango.

By Truestori on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 01:35 pm:

Yvonne,
I'm coming over! YUM
I am making chicken noodle soup, also. My son is home sick. Poor little man :)

By Yjja123 on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 01:46 pm:

Truestori :)
The best part of my menu-- it is all healthy lowfat recipes! My hubby is already down a pant size just from our new recipes---I kinda hate him LOL. Here I am walking 3 miles every day and so far have only lost 8 pounds and he eats different one meal a day and it melts right off him. Men!
Hope your son is feeling better soon!

By Kernkate on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 01:49 pm:

Colette, What are Jerk chicken sandwiches and buffalo burgers???

By Ilovetom on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 01:51 pm:

Leftover potato soup. Can't wait!!!

By Colette on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 02:20 pm:

jerk chicken sandwiches are just boneless chicken breasts rubbed with jerk paste and then grilled. I'll throw them on bulkie rolls w/lettuce and tomato and maybe make some sweet potato fries. Buffalo burgers are just that, buffalo instead of hamburger. We get them at Trader Joes and they are great.

By Kittycat_26 on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 02:24 pm:

Rueben Sandwiches here. You gotta love that saurkraut.

By Cat on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 02:45 pm:

Steak. We picked up some T-Bones for a really good price at the commissary and the weather is mostly cooperating (in the 40's). SO hopefully dh will grill them while the kids and I are at karate tonight and I'll put potatoes in the oven before we leave. :)

By Reds9298 on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 02:54 pm:

Beef and noodles with salad

By Boxzgrl on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 03:13 pm:

By Cat on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 03:19 pm:

lol, Melissa! :)

By Reds9298 on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 07:44 pm:

LOL Melissa! We changed our minds...buffalo chicken pizza instead. My mouth is on FIRE! :)

By Kym on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 08:39 pm:

We are having Chicken en Paupiate, basically chicken with lots of veggies baked in Parchment paper, olive oil and garlic! Wild rice on the side.

By Annie2 on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 09:25 pm:

We had boneless bbq ribs, rice, corn and dinner rolls.

By Paulas on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 09:30 pm:

I had left over brown rice sauteed in the frying pan with 1/2 tbsp olive oil, 2 large mushrooms, 1/2 breast of chicken, 1/2 green pepper and 1/5 cup snap peas. It was delicious and low fat.

By Paulas on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 09:31 pm:

Yvonne,

I would love to see some of your low fat ideas. Could you post them on the get fit board or the recipe board?

By Dawnk777 on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 09:34 pm:

We ate at Culver's tonight, since they were having a fundraiser for the music department at the middle school, where Emily goes. 10% of our sale, went to the music department.

I had chili and a side salad.

By Yjja123 on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 09:50 pm:

Paulas,
I posted a couple on the get fit board. If there are any particular ones you are interested in let me know.

By Hlgmom on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 10:15 pm:

Cilantro Turkey Burgers, Oven roasted Potatoe fries with rosemary and garlic, broccoli!

By Karen~moderator on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 - 07:52 am:

I'm trying to decide if you guys are an inspiration, or if you just push my guilt buttons. We had takeout last night. :-(

By Jackie on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 - 08:02 am:

We had fatfree hotdogs for dinner, is that sad or what LOL.. Im doing Weight Watchers, so sometimes a quick low point meal is a good thing.

By Kernkate on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 - 02:22 pm:

LOL Karen :) Tonight is Tacos, the kid love them. I am not a big fan of them but will eat one.

By Unschoolmom on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 - 04:08 pm:

Frozen chicken balls and eggrolls. :) Tuesday is Lazy Supper night here.

By Karen~moderator on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 - 06:46 pm:

What is Lazy Supper, Dawn????

Kathy, tonight we are having omelets. I was too lazy to go to the grocery on the way home and did not take any chicken out of the freezer (much to DH's delight - he hates chicken! LOL), and I can't stomach takeout 2 nights in a row. So omelets it is! We usually eat pretty healthy but I'm in a *food* slump right now - we are eating very little carbs right now, and nothing appeals to me.

By Missbookworm on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 - 06:51 pm:

Pasta and meatballs with chickpeas and homemade bread. I made it in my bread machine of course, not from scratch but I'm thinking about doing up a batch of buns from scratch this saturday! :)

It's lazy supper night here too Dawn!

By Pamt on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 - 07:50 pm:

Chicken and rice with broccoli and cheese sauce.

By Brandy on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 - 11:51 pm:

Well i was at work but my children and husband had chicken breast made on the little george foreman grill

By Annie2 on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 - 12:39 am:

DD had a rescheduled basketball game so I treated the kids with "bagel bites". Dh had a grinder of leftover bbq rib meat and fries. :)

By Karen~moderator on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 - 07:50 am:

I feel like....*DUH*! Lazy Supper......sort of self explanatory, right? Guess I was reading more into it...

My boss's wife used to do something every week or so and would say they were having CORN for dinner. It was Clean Out Refrigerator Night. Any and everything that was leftover was put on the table and was up for grabs. (And if you knew these people, you'd know that *up for grabs* meant literally that! LOL)

By Missbookworm on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 - 10:06 am:

ohhh! That's funny Karen! LOL!

I rarely have leftovers though, seems that somehow I always manage to cook just enough for me and my lil ones :)

The only time I have leftovers is when my bf is over.
