Signs of pregnancy

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive January 2006: Signs of pregnancy
By Agreen on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 - 08:36 pm:

okay everyone, What are some true signs of pregnancy? My DH and I are TTC and I'm thinking that I just might be. My problem is that I am so irregular with cycles, and have been that way since as long as i can remember. Drs. put me on the pill to help keep things regular, but once i stop taking them, i am back to crazy cycles. So the past few days I feel a little tenderness within the breast area, and thinking Aunt Flo is coming to visit. But No visit yet! That is all i feel. (besides tired, but who wouldn't be with a 16 month old!)With DD i felt a little sick one morning with the smell of eggs, but that was it! Never really had morning sickness until the end of my pregnancy. so besides taking a test, what else is there to look for? I want to wait to this weekend to take a test. I really dont want be disappointed with a negative just yet. What do you think? Could it be wishful thinking?

Unfortunately all the early signs of pregancy can be caused by other things. Breast tenderness, nauseus, being tired. The only real way to know is a test. Later on you get nipple soreness, that line of hair from your belly button can darken, your nipples can darken.

good luck and ***baby dust***

I have uneven cycles, and we're ttc as well. You should check out www.fertilityfriend.com if you haven't already, they have a wonderful charting system. Wishful thinking CAN cause symptoms, AND delay your period. (I speak from experience here!!) However, if you know your O date, and are at least 14 days past it, you can take a sensitive test. The Dollar Tree sells tests that are among the most sensitive on the market, and only $1! Good Luck and ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*BABY DUST~*~*~*~*~*~*~

My only sign was FATIGUE like you wouldn't believe. I had irregular cycles as well so I didn't think about missing my period at all. I remember telling my DH "If I'm not pregnant, then there's definitely something wrong with me because being THIS tired is not normal!"

I took chlomid to regulate my cycle and it worked. Mine went crazy after a miscarriage.
Good luck!!!

My first symptom was frequent urination and gagging on my toothbrush with Jeff, then right after that came sore and tender breasts, fatigue, dizziness and nausea.

With Jen, I wasn't TTC, and I started getting sick after eating breakfast in the morning, before I had a clue. But then looking back, I had just brought Jeff to visit my dad in GA and I was gagging when I smelled the baby food. It was 8 monghts of throwing up with her.

So it's different for everyone, and many of the symptoms could be caused from other things.

Good luck TTC!!

Well, with my first, I was extremely tired and gagging/grossing out about certain foods. The day I took the pregnancy test, I was really tired and just felt off.

With my 2nd ds, I was so sick, I actually went to the doctor because I thought I had the flu. Big suprise, no flu, I was pregnant!
