Neat fundraising idea for teens

Up in Cape Breton, the northern part of my province, a high school girls sports team raised money by asking the community for donations of used formal dresses. Then they set up a small shop and are selling them to the students of surrounding high schools for proms! I thought this was the neatest idea. It's a fundraiser that actually provides a service, doesn't mean knocking on people's doors, effeciently targets a group, etc.

The dresses I saw on TV were beautiful and most had only been worn once. There were also a few tuxes. Thought I'd share this with you guys in case anyone with teenagers might need an idea for raising money.

That is a great idea! It solves the problem of a given girl wearing her dress twice, and raises money at the same time!

Sarah already told me that she will wear last year's prom dress again, since she's only worn it once. I think the only people who will remember it, are the friends she went with last year! Then we only have to pay to get her hair done.
