We are turning our upstairs loft into DD's new bedroom. She wants a window put into the new wall that will look down into the living room.

Does anyone know where I might search for an interior window. I typed those words into a search engine and can only find regular windows. We live in a log cabin and would love the window to kind of go with the cabin theme. Tahnks!!!

Maybe try searching for Pella windows, and hopefully other brands will pop up as well. HTH:)

Does she want a real working window?? I couldn't seem to find anything that I thought would go with a log cabin, but I was able to find some cute things typing in "rustic faux windows" into the search. The other option I though of was using a regular window, and then using wood bark or something similar to cover the casing of the window?? Is that the look your going for?? LOL I would LOVE a log cabin and it is something dh and I talk about all the time for when dd is grown and married off. Our little log cabin in the woods....

is a great resource for owners of log homes.
Because this will be an interior window, and because you have no need for a perfectly water tight fit, any window with the interior and exterior finish that will compliment your decor will work. There really aren't interior windows. You can simply install an glass or plexiglass rectangle in her wall. Any good carpenter will be able to frame it in and install it. An open frame and railing would also work.

I thought we could just use any window we wanted but I wasn't sure because when we told our contractor what we wanted, he said we could get started on looking for interior windows. I guess dopey me took him too literally!!!

It won't be a working window but more to get extra light into her bedroom and for her to look down into the living room. More show than anything!!

DH swears he has seen the window he really wants when he was looking thru a log home magazine so I went to the store this morning and bought all the magazines they had for log homes!! I am hoping it can look "log cabinish" on the side that we will see from the living room but can be really girly for DD's bedroom side!!

Thanks for the Pella idea Eve!! I am going to check that out!! We'll let DD pick the shape she likes!! I am also on the site you suggested Bea. I am waiting for the "windows" link to come up while I type this!!! Thanks so much guys!! :)

Vicki-we do have a log cabin in the woods on 65 acres with no neighbors we can see!! It sure is nice!! :)

We stayed in a log cabin on vacation in Gatlinburg. They had a window in the loft bedroom that I thought was cute. It was 2 wooden shutter like doors. You could close it and bolt it for privacy or leave it open. It looked like something that could be made pretty easily by someone with a saw.

Actually, here is the link to where we stayed. The loft window is the 5th row of pics down and is the 2nd and 3rd pic in the row. I thought it was really cute.

We have interior windows on the porch. I don't think it matter if it is exterior or interior. You just don't have to spend alot of money I guess on window that don't hold the cold out. I would go to home depot or lowes and see what she likes...

Thanks Debbie!! That is a nice place!! I like the window, thought it was very unique but DH says it won't help with light unless it's open all the time and then DD has no privacy!! Oh well!!

I asked DD what she wanted for a window and she said "a rectangle one". She is so easy to please.

The window DH is set on is the one from the log cabin magazine and is a window with some sort of tree branch in it. So I am off to search for that online today!! We will probably end up at Lowe's just like Feona said!!! :)

Thanks everyone!!
