Make it-Bake it Bowls

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive December 2005 : Make it-Bake it Bowls

So, Sarah (16) tried making a bowl last night. The first one didn't work, because she didn't use enough crystals. The second one didn't work, because I think she used too many! The one that was too many, looks really pretty when held up to the light, though, so the kids decided they are going to make suncatchers now! LOL!

We also have to have dad drill a hole in the "bowl" that didn't work, so that she put a string in it, to hang it up.

Emily had a suncatcher kit, from a LONG time ago and she finally made it, so she has a little horse suncatcher. Hers was also plastic crystals that needed to bake.

I'm glad you posted this! We haven't tried our bowls yet, but Emily did make a suncatcher and a keychain from her other make it and bake it kit I bought her and those turned out pretty, although we had to add more to them because we didn't use enough at first....

Hmmmm...any advice on how many crystals to use?

I guess make sure the pieplate is pretty solid with crystals. The instructions say 1/8" to 1/4", and Sarah was measuring 1/4", so maybe 1/4" is too thick.
