One of my favorites: "A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on."

"Cleaning and Scrubbing can wait 'till tomorrow, For babies grow up - we've learned to our sorrow;
So quiet down, cobwebs...Dust, go to sleep;
I'm rocking my baby... and babies don't keep!"

By Tink on Friday, December 30, 2005 - 02:33 am:

"Mothers hold their children's hands for just a little while, their hearts forever."

And there is one that says something like "Having a child is like letting your heart walk around outside of your body".

Here are some that I have:

"A Baby is a bit of stardust blown from the hand of God!"

"Small child-once you were a hope, a dream.
Now you are a reality. Changing all that is to come...A love to hold our hearts forever."

"There is no other closeness in human life like the closeness between mother and her baby: chronologically, physically, and spiritually, they are just a few heartbeats away from being the same."

"A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on."

"Having a baby is like falling in love again, both with your husband and your child."

"Other things change us, but we start and end with the family."

"Babies are such a nice way to start people."

"Where there is great love, there are always miracles."

"From small beginnings come great things."

"A friend is a gift you give yourself."

"Each day comes bearing its own gifts. Untie the ribbons."

"To have a friend is to have one of the sweetest gifts that life can bring."

"A new baby is like the beginning of all things-wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities."

"Before you were conceived, I wanted you.
Before you were born, I loved you.
Before you were for an hour, I would die for you.
This is the miracle of life."

"When a child is born, so is a grandmother."

"A child's love is like the dawn unfolding...bright, new, and full of hope."

"Children are the keys of paradise."

"A child is the greatest poem ever known."

"While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is al about."

"Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things."

"Life itself is the most wonderful fairytale."

"Nothing is more than this day."

"From friends with love,
From family with love,
Given in love,
For the baby we love."

"Diaper backwards spells repaid. Think about it."

I read this at my baby shower, and everyone loved it:

"A not from baby _____
I'm sorry I can't
Be here today but
I'm a little busy, you see,
God is creating my eyes,
Cheeks and hair so that my
Mommmy, Daddy,
And our family and friends
Will be proud of me.
When you see Mommy get thinner,
You know that I have arrived,
So please come and see me!
Thank you for all your gifts,
I'm going to need them,
Because when I arrive...
I will only be wearing my birthday suit."

I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I love the site www.quotegarden.com. They have quotes about everything and I always go there when I need one. HTH

By Dawnk777 on Friday, December 30, 2005 - 10:21 am:

I'll love you forever
I'll love for always
As long as I'm living
My baby you'll be

From the book, I'll Love You Forever that I can never read without crying!

By Dawnk777 on Friday, December 30, 2005 - 10:28 am:

A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for.

If one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go far to find it. I think that I see something deeper, more infinite, more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle.

A baby is born with a need to be loved - and never outgrows it.

People who say they sleep like a baby usually don't have one.

A two-year old is kind of like having a blender, but you don't have a top for it.

A babe in the house is a well-spring of pleasure, a messenger of peace and love, a resting place for innocence on earth, a link between angels and men.

At my daughter's shower we used "Babies are such a nice way to start people" on the favors.

Deek, that is so sweet!

Here is a poem, rather than a quote, but I love this! it's on my fridge:)

HOW TO REALLY LOVE
A CHILD
Be there. say yes as often as possible. let them
bang on pots. if they're crabby, put them in
water. if they're unlovable, love yourself. realize
HOW important it is to be a child. Go to A
movie theatre in your PAJAMAS. read books
out loud with joy. invent pleasures together.
remember how small THEY are. GiGGle A lot.
surprise them. say no when necessary. teach
feelings. Heal your own inner child. learn about
parenting. Hug trees together. Make loving safe.
Bake A cake and eat it with your hands. Go
Find elephants and kiss them. plan to build a
rocket ship. imagine yourself magic. make lots
of forts with blankets. let your angel fly. reveal your own dreams. search out the positive. Keep the gleam in your eye. Mail letters to GOD.
encourage silly. plant licorice in your garden !
open up. stop yelling. express your love ! a lot. speak kindly. paint their tennis shoes. Handle with caring. CHILDREN ARE MIRACULOUS
