Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive December 2005 : Is everyone worn out after the Holiday??
By Kernkate on Monday, December 26, 2005 - 01:57 pm:

I know I am. I am trying to get things straightened up around here today. I am just pooped. We had dinner Christmas Eve for 14. Yesterday Christmas there was only 7 of us and today is try to get the house back into shape.
At 5:00 today, friends of ours are having us over to a turkey dinner for my birthday which is Wednesday.
A night without cooking...YIPPEE!!!
Maybe tomorrow I can relax in my P.J.'s! I wish!
Hope everyone is rested up after the long weekend.
All in all, it was a very nice holiday.

I slept until 11:00 this morning! I haven't done that it in a long time! LOL
Dh had the day off and he let me sleep in (he's taking a nap now ). I'm trying not to let the mess get to me too much and I've had little spurts today where I've cleaned up here and there. But, I do plan on doing as little as possible for the next few days, to counterbalance how busy I was last month. That's part of my Christmas present to myself. :)

I woke up around 8 and got dressed around 10. I can't really sleep that late anymore. We had to go to my SIL Lila's house, since we needed to deliver some kringle (baked goodie) and fruit off at her house, since we forgot it yesterday. It was for Sarah's band fundraiser.

Gary also got her a battery charger set, with 4 batteries, for the digital camera she got for Christmas yesterday. He also installed the software on her computer. In the meantime, the girls and I got to play with my nephew's girlfriend's cats! That was fun.

We are home now and DH just went to work. So, kids and I are looking forward to a quiet evening at home.

I'm totally beat, and I did nothing compared to what I normally do. I wanted to sleep in yesterday (Christmas), but Jen called and woke me up early. Then this morning I got up VERY early with Jules and took a nap this afternoon. Everyone at my ooky job is out of town this week except for me and a surveyor, so I expect I will be busy as heck this week.

I feel drained. We've had people in and out of our house for three days. I still have gifts all over the den and no leftovers for dinner! I hope dh and ds are ok with oatmeal or a sandwich for dinner.

I slept until 9:00 this morning. That is really sleeping in, since i usually wake up at 7:00! I am tired but not as tired as i usually am during the holidays. We have had a very mellow Christmas Eve and Christmas. Ask me again after next weekend. My sister, her dh and their two 2 yr olds and 4 yr old are staying with us for the weekend. We are having a New Year's Eve party. I'm sure i will be pooped next week!

I'm pooped. On top of 6 extra people showing up last minute for Christmas dinner and waking up with constant sore throats throughout the night for 3 days, i'm pooped. I want to sleep. I want my nose and throat to let me sleep. I want DD to let me sleep. I think i'll keep dreaming....

I slept until 10 this morning!! I haven't done that since college. AND...I took a nap. Yeah, I guess you could say that I'm tired.

By Tink on Monday, December 26, 2005 - 11:38 pm:

I'm wiped out, too. We didn't host anything this year but we were on the run for the last three days! We'd stop at home to drop off gifts, shower and change clothes and then we were off again. We haven't even slept at home the last two nights. I really love my bed and can't wait to spend some time in it! :)

I'm wiped out too! I think mainly because on Christmas Eve I got really sick! :(

My children were at their dads and as much as I missed them it was sort of a blessing as I was able to get past most of it. I'm still coughing and feeling run down. My bf came over last night and spent time with me but I mostly laid around lol

My best friend came over tonight and hung out with her son for a few hours and that was really nice.

I'm heading to bed now though lol *hopes the little ones sleep in a bit :)

I'm beat. I'm still trying to recover from working retail the last few days before Chrismas and yesterday. Dh made most of the Christmas dinner and he did the majority of the clean up while I worked yesterday.

By Reds9298 on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 - 07:43 am:

REALLY tired on Christmas day, but bounced back pretty quickly. I napped Christmas afternoon!

By Dandjmom on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 - 10:09 am:

Yes I can stand a rest, but I unfortunatley can't afford to get tired. So I was back out of the bed again at 4:15 this morning so that I could get my bus on time to be here at work 6:45.

I cooked all weekend, I prepared dinner started Saturday night and then finished on Sunday. I prepared dinner for 13 plus 4 babies for a grand total of 18.

We had a mellow eve and Christmas day, but my ds's b-day is the 26th, so we had an active day, then my business partner and her family came in town for the night, so we had a work party, and today we spent the day in "Tombstone" Arizona watching the gun fights at the OK corral! LOL, than tomorrow I have 4 well child doc appts, and Thursday is the b-day party, I think I'll sleep in on um..............Friday! :)
