Christmas vacation from school

When did all your kids get out for Christmas vacation? Would you believe our kids are in school today. Granted its only a half day. I overheard the teachers and bus drivers talking that our area is the only area that is going to school so late that mostly everybody else has been off for Christmas vacation for days now.

Our district went Monday, Tuesday and 1/2 day Wednesday. There are several districts in our area, all with different schedules. One had this whole week off. Another went through today. We don't go back until January 9th. It's going to be a nice break, especially since I've only got one child today (4 month old who's not coming until 10) and I'm off ALL next week!!! :)

Today is our first day of break. They were in school for a full day yesterday. Of course, they did nothing but watch movies and have a kick ball tournament and fun things like that.

This is our first day off. And, one of my dd's friends is having a breakfast birthday party this morning. So, we had to get up at our usual time to get her to the party. No rest for us :) We go back to school on the 3rd.

Wow!!! We have school allllll week this week, and only have next week and January 2nd off. We return on Tuesday, January 3rd. So vacation begins December 26, technically.....:(:(:(:(:(:(

We had school all day on Monday, and half a day on Tuesday and Wednesday, during which the primary kids pretty much did nothing, but the highschoolers had exams, so we had to go those two half days. Our first day back is Jan. 4. Kids are excited about the break.

Now for Spring Break, we only have Good Friday, and the following Monday after Easter, and sometimes that Thursday, too.

We had to stop having a full week for Spring Break because of all the school that is missed for snow days during the year.

My kids went Mon, Tues, half day Wed and we were making up hurricane Katrina days! We missed 6 days of school from Katrina/Rita and we had 1 day built in, made up 3 extra days at Christmas, and are adding 2 days to the end of school. It seems like with Christmas being on a Sunday this year that it is really throwing off school breaks.

Kate
Our school schedule is just like yours, with today being the last day, and returning to school on Jan 3rd. I remember being younger and getting 2 full weeks off for Christmas vacation.

My kids are still in school all day today, but it's a fun day. They don't go back til the 9th! I'm so happy to have 2 weeks off from the crazy routine that is school!

My kids' last day was the 16th and they don't go back till the 4th.

Last day was last Friday (16th) and they return the 3rd. We also started school on Aug. 15.

My kids had to go to school, up until today. They were done at 1245pm and 105pm. They are off until January 1st. They go back to school on January 2nd.

We started the day after Labor Day.
