Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive December 2005 : What are you doing today?
I could be cleaning my house but instead i'm playing around online eating pickles, pepperoncinis and marshmallows. It's great to be pregnant! I've got a few small errands to run but other than that, today looks to be a pretty calm day.
Cleaning!! We leave tomorrow for 2.5 weeks so I have to have the house ready.
Well I can tell you that Im not doing what I should be doing, like cleaning. Ive taken both kids to school this morning. I came home, did laundry, put the baby down for a nap. I made cookies for my son to bring to school tomorrow. I did more laundry, fed the baby lunch, and going to get my daughter from school in 20 minutes, all while being on and off the computer. Not a very productive day.Oops, meant to add its my phone day for the rescue group. So about once an hr, or sometimes more I check messages and call people back and chat about dogs.
I am at work!! UGH!!!
Just got done working at school and am about to rush off to my nurse job now!
Making 3 dozen candles---arghh! I promised Jessica we would make 1 dozen for her dance teachers. Hubby calls and pleads for me to make 2 dozen for him to take to work. So today we are making lots of candles. At least the house smells great!
Hopefully sewing pjs and a poncho. Just finished tracing the pattern for a size 7 pair of pjs. Now I'm taking a break on the computer and then hopefully Dh will take the kids somewhere so I can sew their Christmas PJs
I am home with a sick kid. I ran to the doc with him (just the yuckies, nothing particular). Then I delivered about 20 bags of grocery to the local food bank (from the scouts), I had lunch with hubby. I baked pigs in a blanket and took them up to the school. I am now cleaning and preparing. I have a friend who called in a panic and needs me to get her at the airport, so i am driving an hour each way during rush hour..LOL. So I just got off the phone with the babysitter so I don't have to drag the kiddos. I am a little sick myself, but doing much better. I will probably spend most of the night in the ICU with my friend, her dad is not doing well.
I'm dealing with the furniture folks and the carpet guy, not to mention a teething little one.
Trying to stay awake. We were up in the middle of the night last night, FREEZING. The house was so cold. The furnace was on but not working very well. Eventually my dh realized that the filter DESPERATELY needed to be changed. He did some work in the basement last month and i think that is how it got so filthy. Luckily we had a new one in the basement so he changed it and *Poof* the furnace works fine now and hte house is nice and warm again.
Cleaning (dishes, laundry, sorting stuff etc.) and hanging out with my little ones!
I was on strike as DH decided last night that he didn't *feel* like doing anything and his parents are only arriving in 3 days!
Today I've been working on a local newsletter I publish and e-mailing and/or calling people to pester them because they're late with their submissions. Argh! Other than that...cleaning, laundry and starting to organize for our VA trip. We leave Friday morning.
We spent all morning putting together Christmas boxes for the needy, and then I picked up everything I need for my baking extravaganza! Holy heck, I can't believe how much I just spent on sugar, candy and flour!!! I'll be baking my fool head off this afternoon and my dad is here visiting. The kids will be opening their gifts from him tonight so I'm cleaning in anticipation for that.
I should be packing as we are leaving on Thursday at 3am for the airport to go Italy. I can't pack tomorrow because i still have to go shopping to Oxford Street (for those who have been in London you can imagine how Oxford St gets a week before Christmas!) and i want to get there early...
We went to Walmart for XMas eve dinner, printed out pics for cards, wrote out all 60, bake three different desserts for cookie plates for friends, laundry.
ROFL Melissa!! I love all those things but not together. lol You are funny.
Wow! just the last day today? When do yours go back?
Just finished making sugar cookies with my mom and kids. In a bit i am going to make more peanut butter cookies with Hershey kisses.
Worked at school, went out for lunch, picked up kids. Now home for a bit. Then at 5pm, we drop Emily off at church for Dinner Club, followed by Confirmation Class, which goes until nearly 8pm. Sarah and I will do some more Christmas shopping then. After Emily gets home, we will probably work on the cards.
Mailed off cards, delivered goodies to neighbors, kids wrapped dh's presents and went to see Cheaper By The Dozen 2. Tomorrow we are putting together the gingerbread house. I still need to buy stocking stuffers, wrap two gifts and pick up ham/sides for Sunday. Everything is coming together....slowly!
I had some running around to do today...so I went out to do that (last minute gift) and some banking...and to pick up a paper shredder (so I can clean out all the sensitive paper stuff I don't need to keep anymore) and my daughter started throwing up WHILE we were on the bus...so now I'm taking care of a sick child
Tomorrow is the last day of school here. And, it's 1/2 day. So, I have to have all gifts purchased by 1pm tomorrow!

and so close to Christmas. Last night it was a sick bf...today her and my other child has a cough *sigh*
