Last gift bought...and it was a fun one!

My youngest DS is home sick today. Well, not so much, but he did give and Academy Award winning performance today and since he is so *ill* he'll have to rest after lunch. I pulled out an old VHS of Disney's "Davy Crockett." He absolutely loves it!! We went to his room and pulled out a couple of toys rifle he has and he's been shooting Indians all morning and fighting for the Alamo. (Ooops! Another parenting rule broken--I let my kids play with toy guns). Anyway, we still had one gift to buy for him. Both boys get 3 gifts from Santa and 1 gift from us. I just found an ordered a replica of Davy Crockett's Old Betsy rifle in a kit along with gunpowder pistol from that era. It was fun to find just what I was looking for and I'm sure he'll love it. Now I am finished!!

What a relief to be done! I have to admit, I never would have pegged you for letting the kids have toy guns. :) We don't have guns in our house...unless you count the lego creations and other interesting substitutes the boys have come up with. ;)

I bought my last two Christmas gifts this morning. Woo hoo!

Melanie, I also never would have pegged Pam for allowing toy guns. :) Light sabers in our house, but no guns. (DS has become a Star Wars nerd. LOL!)

LOL Trina, would you believe the last gift I bought for the boys were "Build your own light sabers"? :)

By Pamt on Monday, December 19, 2005 - 03:15 pm:

Sorry to be so shocking--LOL. Oh, we have lots of light sabers and swords (Lord of the Rings) too.

Yay! Glad you are finished! We did a LOT of shopping over the weekend. I still have about 6-10 gifts left to buy. But, we got the bulk of it out of the way. Oh, and I need to get stocking stuffers too.

Sounds great Pam.

We broke that rule too. Currently there are foam swords, plastic cutlasses and bastard swords, bow and arrows, cap guns abd water pistols and even a cheap, real sword my brother brought back from Thailand.

We all kill each other on a regular basis. :)

LOL! I'm glad to hear that my family isn't the only family who kills each other on a regular basis!

We don't have guns that look like guns but we have the fancy super soakers and the like! Swords and light sabers are also pretty popular in our house.

Ditto on the lego creations!

That sounds like a great gift pam! :)
