People on Freecycle

Oh my goodness.. You have to wonder what is wrong with people. For the most part, I have had good experiences with it. This one lady asked for some wooden children puzzles I was giving away. I try to be flexible, I usually give a 2 day limit though.Anyways. I told her whenever she could pick up during the day would be fine because I leave the stuff outside. 4 e-mails later, she has every excuse, husband had her keys, etc..Every e-mail she had some reason, but assured me she was coming, this has been going on for 2 days. Anyways, finally I e-mailed and told her I was reporting her to the moderators as a no-show. We are allowed to this if we gave them more then 24 hrs and still havent showed after making arrangements. Anyways, I then post that I have some movies to give away. I received about 10 e-mails on the movies. I gave them to the first lady who replied. I get an e-mail from this lady who wanted the puzzles, said she wanted the movies too. So Im thinking "What nerve".. I told her that, I said you gave me every excuse in the world why you didnt pick up the puzzles, and you expect me to give you movies? So she e-mailed me back some snotty replies. Yes, I wasnt very nice either. I was just to the point and honest. I have no patience for people like that. Ive never been a noshow for anything. I pick up everytime when I say I would.
Some freecycle people expect the world on freecycle.
Or the other pet peeve of mine is where people who only read on e-mail. I read all posts on site. That way you can see the takens right away. I posted this can pan yesterday. I literally had like 15 responses. Ok, so I gave to this lady who lived in neighborhood. I posted right away "taken" on the site. I mean within 10 minutes of my offer, I posted taken. 3 hrs later I was still receiving "I would like this cake pan". I think its the people who read on e-mail who do this. They see the first e-mail on it, and write right away. If they read on site, they could see right away its been taken.
Ok my vent about freecycle today :)

I've had similar problems too. I gave this lady 2 weeks and she was a no-show.
Some people are just "trigger happy" and like the "feeling" of winning something. Then, when they actually have to get off their butt and get it, they expect it to be delivered or something. It's ridiculous.
On my posts, I put on there that I won't give my items to people who can't pick up within 3 days. It's reasonable in my book.

I only read my freecycle stuff through my email. That's how I read all of my lists.

I run the local freecycle list, and have had some issues with rude members. I have been called some pretty nasty names, and have had to ban 2 members.
