Aerosmith - I Don't Want to Miss A Thing

Lol! I'm sure I could name a ton more but that's the first one I thought of. It's one of the first songs my boyfriend ever "gave" me.

By Beth on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 - 10:12 am:

I can't remember the name but I love this song. Alison Krause and Randy Travis have both sung it. I think it may be called When you say nothing at all? Maybe? If someone knows let me know.

By Luvn29 on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 - 11:04 am:

I think it was actually Keith Whitley who also sang it, but yes, it is called "When You say nothing at all". One of my favorite songs, Alison's version, that is.

Shania Twain "From this moment" That is the song that I walked down the aisle to in my wedding. It has tremondous meaning to my husband and me.

I also like a very untraditional one by Alannis Morrisette called "Head Over Feet". That is my husband's and my fell in love song. It was so true for us because we accidentally fell in love with no intentions of that kind of relationship.

By Shann on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 - 12:01 pm:

Hysteria Def Leppard. my all time fav

By Alberobello on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 - 06:16 pm:

Juliet - Dire Straits

And from the greatest Italian rockstar Vasco Rossi: "Brava".

But there are so many...

By Missbookworm on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 - 06:19 pm:

I hear you Adena...my boyfriend and I never meant to be in that kind of relationship either..It just happened!

By Jodes on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 - 07:14 pm:

Nothing's Gonna Change my Love for you...Glenn Maderos
and I really love "The Heart Will Go on" not sure if that's the title, but it's from the movie Titanic.

By Shellyg on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 - 07:23 pm:

"Let's get it on" Marvin Gaye
"Ain't nobody love me better" Chaka Khan
You see where my mind is at, hehe!

By Shellyg on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 - 07:25 pm:

Oh, one more... "when doves cry" by prince. That whole CD is excellent.

By Reds9298 on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 - 07:28 pm:

Oh ditto Shellyg - love old Prince!

By Tink on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 - 11:55 pm:

Adena, that is "our" song! I didn't post it because I thought it was such a strange love song. Our other songs are "1000 Miles" by the Pretenders and "Dreams" by the Cranberries.

Sunny, I love that Eric Clapton song.

By Luvn29 on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 - 09:50 am:

Well, I hesitated posting it because I wasn't sure anyone else would even know the song! It just fits us perfectly. I had come out of an awful relationship and had known my husband in HS, and was actually friends with his sister who is my age, and worked with him (mostly on different shifts), but we never really even talked. It's so strange how things work out in their own time just how they are meant to be!

I remember watching him joking around with a couple other employees and I thought "I'd like to be friends with him. He looks like a lot of fun." And look at us now! And to think...it all started over a Santa hat... and that's a whole 'nother story!

By Luvn29 on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 - 09:53 am:

Words to Head over Feet

I had no choice but to hear you
You stated your case time and again
I thought about it

You treat me like I'm a princess
I'm not used to liking that
You ask how my day was

Chorus:
You've already won me over in spite of me
Don't be alarmed if I fall head over feet
Don't be surprised if I love you for all that you are
I couldn't help it
It's all your fault

Your love is thick and it swallowed me whole
You're so much braver than I gave you credit for
That's not lip service

Repeat Chorus

You are the bearer of unconditional things
You held your breath and the door for me
Thanks for your patience

You're the best listener that I've ever met
You're my best friend
Best friend with benefits
What took me so long

I've never felt this healthy before
I've never wanted something rational
I am aware now
I am aware now

Repeat Chorus

By Amecmom on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 - 11:05 am:

"Truly, Madly, Deeply" by Savage Garden. It was my wedding song.
Ame

I'll be your dream
I'll be your wish
I'll be your fantasy.
I'll be your hope
I'll be your love
Be everything that you need.
I love you more with every breath
Truly madly deeply do..
I will be strong I will be faithful
'Cos I'm counting on a new beginning.
A reason for living.
A deeper meaning.
Chorus

I want to stand with you on a mountain.
I want to bathe with you in the sea.
I want to lay like this forever.
Until the sky falls down on me...
Verse 2

And when the stars are shining brightly
In the velvet sky,
I'll make a wish
Send it to heaven
Then make you want to cry..
The tears of joy
For all the pleasure and the certainty.
That we're surrounded
By the comfort and protection of..
The highest power.
In lonely hours.
The tears devour you..
I want to stand with you on a mountain,
I want to bathe with you in the sea.
I want to lay like this forever,
Until the sky falls down on me...
Bridge

Oh can't you see it baby?
You don't have to close your eyes
'Cos it's standing right before you.
All that you need will surely come...

I'll be your dream
I'll be your wish
I'll be your fantasy.
I'll be your hope
I'll be your love
Be everything that you need.
I'll love you more with every breath
Truly madly deeply do...

Unchained Melody by the Rightous Brothers

Wind Beneath my Wings-Bette Midler

When You Say Nothing At All-I like Alison Kruas' version as well. She has the voice of an angel.

Thank you thank you thank you Ame!!! I LOVE that song, and had forgotten about it. I love Savage Garden.

By Reds9298 on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 - 02:13 pm:

I also love "In Your Eyes", but I can't remember who it's by.

...In your eyes, the light the heat, in your eyes, I am complete, in your eyes, I see the doorway to a thousand churches..."
Know which one I mean?
I LOVE the line about "resolution, to all the .....less searching" and "in your eyes I see the doorway to a thousand churches"

By Angellew on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 - 03:30 pm:

In your eyes is Peter Gabriel and I really like that song!!! Great choice!

By Tink on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 - 09:30 pm:

I am not the best at pulling song titles from memory but I read these and keep thinking "Oh, I love that song!" So...I love that James Blunt song, Catherin, and no one ever knows which song I'm talking about. I also love "When I See You Smile". I haven't heard that song in the longest time. I also like the Allison Krause song that so many of you brought up. Does anyone know a country love song that has a chorus that says "I want to be loved like that"? I have no idea who it's by or the rest of the song but it always brings tears to my eyes.

By Luvn29 on Thursday, December 15, 2005 - 11:02 am:

Tink, would that be by Shenandoah "I Wanna Be Loved Like That"? Kind of an older song?

Natalie Wood gave her heart to James Dean
The high school rebel and the teenage queen
Standin together in an angry world
One boy fightin for one girl

(Chorus)
I wanna be loved like that, I wanna be loved like that
A promise you can't take back
If you're gonna love me
I wanna be loved like that

Daddy never gave Momma a diamond ring
But Momma never wanted for anything
But what he gave her it came from the heart
In a bond that was never torn apart

(Repeat Chorus)

An old man kneeling all alone
Plants his flowers in a garden of stone
For seven years now she's been gone
And his devotion is still goin strong

I wanna be loved like that, I wanna be loved like that
A promise you can't take back
If you're gonna love me

(Repeat Chorus)

By Tink on Thursday, December 15, 2005 - 11:05 am:

That's it. Thanks. I only listened to country for a year or so in high school but that song has really stuck with me.

By Janet on Thursday, December 15, 2005 - 12:54 pm:

"The Gift" by Jim Brickman, and I can't tell you who sings it. My dh and I got married in December, and it always makes me think of that time. *sigh* Coming up on 14 years!! :)

By Janet on Thursday, December 15, 2005 - 01:06 pm:

PS...I've also always loved Barry Manilow's "Could This Be the Magic." (OK, go ahead and laugh, all you youngsters... but I like Barry!) And Angel... I also love "I Love You" by Climax! Never knew anyone else did!

By Missbookworm on Thursday, December 15, 2005 - 02:26 pm:

Tink! Almost everyone I know (online friends) know that song! :) and now you know someone who knows it too

By Missbookworm on Thursday, December 15, 2005 - 02:29 pm:

I LOVE Barry Manilow (and I'm pretty young) His song "When will I hold you again" is great!

By Missbookworm on Thursday, December 15, 2005 - 02:36 pm:

Janet Martina Mcbride did a version of that song the gift with Jim Brickman. I'm not sure if that's the original one though. Geez! I really have to learn to put all my posts in one lol

By Reds9298 on Thursday, December 15, 2005 - 06:07 pm:

I love "Valentine" by Martina McBride. Dh and I danced to that at our wedding...sniff,sniff.

I also really like "I Love You" by Climax...I had totally forgotten that song!!!

By Wandilu on Thursday, December 15, 2005 - 11:27 pm:

"The Rose".it was recorded by many people, but one of the latest was Bette Midler.

By Hol on Monday, January 2, 2006 - 06:10 am:

"This Guy's In Love With You" by Herb Alpert. (You young ones are going, "WHO"?) :) It was our wedding son in 1968.

My oldest son's wedding song was "I Do" by Paul Brandt, in 1996.

I like "Just Look at Us" by Vince Gill(?) a good anniversary song.

By Karen~moderator on Monday, January 2, 2006 - 10:00 am:

Janet, I am going to *come out* and admit that I too, like Barry Manilow and Climax! Say what you must, but Barry Manilow has written some of the best love songs. My friend made such fun of me when I was buying a boxed set of Barry Manilow CDs at Sams. She was shocked too, because I listen to stuff like Aerosmith, AC/DC, Metallica, normally. She told me she never figured me for *that* type. But hey, I listen to all types of music and can appreciate the differences in them. I also love Michael Bolton and Kenny G too, and have Wilson Philips CD's and on the opposite end of the spectrum, Queensryche CD's too.

By Reds9298 on Monday, January 2, 2006 - 11:19 am:

I like Barry Manilow and Climaxx, too!!! Have all the Kenny G cd's, too....
