My Dh picked out and brought home my Christmas present today. He couldn't wait until Christmas, LOL. He brought home a Papillon puppy! I have wanted one for so long. We decided on a name...Gumbo. Since we live in the south and he is a shrimp! ;)

I had to look these up to see what they were and OMGosh! They are the cutest little things. How old is he and how small will he be full-grown?

He is 3 months old, mostly white with black ears and some brown spots. He now weighs about 4 1/2 lbs. They do not grow taller than 11 inches or weigh more than 9 lbs. He is smaller than our cat! LOL

Years ago, someone I was very close to gave me and the kids a pure-bred, 6 week old Rottie for Christmas. We adored her, but as a single working mom with 2 kids heavily involved in extracurricular activities, we could not housebreak her and had to give her to someone.

There is NOTHING more enchanting that a pet as a gift for Christmas!!!! You ALWAYS remember when you got your pet, you always have wonderful memories and stories to tell about how your pet joined your family.

Day two, Gumbo is doing great. He slept quietly last night in his crate in the laundry room and has peed outside with no accidents. Knock on wood. He just started eating so I know he will have to poop soon but so far he hasn't.

We went to a few stores today and DD carried him around. She loved the attention and was so proud showing him off! She wants to get a small purse/carrier like Paris Hilton! LOL

Our 140 lb shepard has no problem with him. Our 12 year old golden mix will take so much and our cat has much disdain for me and him! LOL
