Nintendo Ds can it be done? My 8 year old says yes lol i have no clue because i thought Gameboy and Nintendo were two different systems?

Your 10-year-old is right--you can play Gameboy Advance games on Nintendo DS (Gameboy is made by Nintendo). You CANNOT play original Gameboy or Gameboy color games.

Well, if you can play Gameboy Advance games in a Nintendo DS, can you play Nintendo DS games in a Gameboy?

Emily has a Gameboy Advance SP, that she got last year for Christmas. Then they come out with this cute dog game for Nintendo DS. We don't really want to spend the money on a Nintendo DS if we don't have to.

Dawn, my kids have the Nintendo DS and Gamboy Advances--NOT SP, but a friend of thiers has the SP. You can NOT play the DS games in any of the Gameboys. They're a different size/shape. Any of the Gameboy games (basic, color, advance) work in the SP, but the DS is totally different. I've seen that dog game. It is cute, but unless you want to spend the $ for the DS, I guess you'll have to skip it.

I know my ninetendo. The DS games only fit in the DS. They are much smaller (about 1 inx 1in and 1/4 in). My son just got one for his bday and that dog game. It is very cute. The ds is interesting, it has a microphone so you speak into it, you can blow on in and rub on the screen. Teh dc also has two game slots, one to hold theDS games and one to hold the GBA games. So they can have two games with them at all times. They do not play old (longer) games, they do not have the same linking type cables, so when we used to have linking cables for the GBA games to play with a friend, you can't do that now. I do wonder if they will link elsewise though, I know my son and he were "communicating" with theirs yesterday.

Dawn we bought this DS at toys r us last week, they had a great deal on them, we got the system, 2 games (specific games) and an accesory pack for 160. Now you can get the game systems for 120. Good luck.
