Bangs...here I go again! :)

I'm trying to let them grow out. Uughhh! They are starting to annoy me. They are about half way down my nose when I pull then straight.

They are too short to sweep them near my ears. They also tend to lay flat from my scalp. When I have bangs I like that they are a tad bit pouffy from my scalp.

I guess I will just take them one day at a time. Anyone else let their's grow out and are happy that they did so? :)

I am happy I have...it's taken a while, but my bangs are no longer bangs. Hang in there...this has been the first time I've made it past the annoying stage & not given up. :) Good Luck!

I tried a number of times to grow mine out, and they'd get to the same stage yours are, and I'd chop them off again. Now, my bangs are the longest part of my hair. LOL Good luck growing them out, I know how irritating it is!

I grew mine out last year, for the first time EVER!!! I'm happy with them. I am thinking it's time for a change again, though. I know it's only hair and it will grow out if I don't like it, but the thing is I DO like my hair. I'm just bored with it! lol We'll see... :) Good luck with yours. I feel your pain.

I tried a bazillion times and gave up at about the point where you are now. I FINALLY let them grow out about 4 years ago and love my hair---most days. :) The key is getting good haircuts throughout the process, even if that does mean a *tiny* trim of the bangs to integrate them into long layers as they grow out. Once I had a stylist who was good about helping my long bangs blend in to the rest of my hair and showing cute tricks with barrettes and headbands to keep them from falling in my eyes, then it was a go. Hang in there---you CAN do it! :)

My kids both grew their bangs out. It took a long time! I got my hair cut about a month ago or so and my bangs are down to my eyebrows now and starting to bug me already! Maybe I will snip them when I wash my hair tomorrow! Can't stand long bangs. I don't think I could ever grow mine out!

Never made it past the tip of my nose. My dh laughs at me every time I say I'm gonna do it again.

I wish you luck though.

I've had all one-length hair off and on my whole life, and do right now. It's HARD to be patient when growing them out because you get to stages where you can't do anything with them. Stay strong!!LOL

You're almost there! You can do it! Just get some cute little clips and pin it back. Or else get a large velcro roller, and before your hair is totally blow dryed-put the roller in with the hair going down like bangs. Spray it lightly and then blow dry to get it very dry. Leave it in for a bit, to let the heat leave and for it to set. Then, take it out. That should help a little, until you get a little more length. Or really work it with a round brush to get it over to the side. It will be so worth it!! I'm so glad I grew mine out. I'll also never give my DD bangs. Well, not until she is old enough to beg me. Good luck!:)

Annie, I am growing mine out too. I had the rest of my hair cut last week. The girl that cuts my hair texturized (sp?) them and then used a razor to kind of take the weight out and make them more piecy(does that make sense). It made a big difference and now I can handle it better. They also look a lot better. I also clip mine back with a cute decorated bobby bin.

Good luck. I have tried this so often. But this time I think I am going to do it!

You can do it! I let my bangs grow out in high school and had them like that for a long time. I got all my hair chopped about 3 years ago, so i do have some bangs again. I don't think i will grow them out again, only because it took so long and it was so frustrating!

I know it is a pain, but you will probably like it once they are grown out. Just think, buy next summer you won't have any bangs to worry about! :)

I've never had bangs. Mine have always been long like my hair. I have naturally curly hair though so maybe it's different?

I wish you luck though :)

I blow dry my bangs to the sides. Works well for me.

I haven't decided what to do with them. The last gal that cut my hair didn't do it the way my usual gal did, so I don't like them. I may go back to have them layered better.

I have grown my bangs out from time to time all my life and I have been in the process of growing them out for the last year and a half now. It takes so long! Mine are now almost as long as the rest of my hair, which is just above my mid back. I became impatient about a month ago though and had five inches cut off the back of my hair to make the length of my hair and my bangs much closer. Nuts huh? LOL

By Annie2 on Sunday, October 30, 2005 - 05:25 pm:

I'm still holding on! I didn't realize this was a common problem with us ladies! LOL The rest of my hair just touches my shoulders.

By Colette on Sunday, October 30, 2005 - 08:21 pm:

I let mine grow out about a year or so ago. My hair is long but I just pushed them back - kind of like running your hands through your hair type of look - my hair is wavy if I don't use the blow dryer so it kind of blended in that way.

at any rate. I will NEVER have bangs again.

unless something dreadful happens like an age spot on my forehead.
