Ugh those Astros

Houston has just been so excited that we made it into the world series. So far it has just sucked! We are down 3-0 and if we don't win tonight the whole thing is over (actually we have to win the next 4 now). This has never been done in a WS and only done once in a post season game. What a bummer. I think the hardest thing is all three nights have been close, each night we had the op to win, and have even been up in the game. Anyway, just wanted to vent some steam here. The other thing that has driven me nuts is our umps have been awful. There have been so many blatenly bad calls, for both sides. One call did cost the Astros game 2. But it is interesting that baseball is the only sport that calls can't be contested and changed. The cards lost a game to us due to a bad call too. I am avid tennis player and we always say, line calls all come out in the wash, so I do know that is probably true in baseball. But this group overall hasn't done a stellar job.

Let me be clear though, I don't think that is why we are losing, I just was suprised that they could miss so many calls.

Kaye, my boys are so excited about the WS. We have been watching every game. We are a divided house though. Dh and my Dad are cheering for the Astros. Dh always liked the Astros when we were in Texas and he loves Clements. But, the boys and I are cheering for the Sox. My oldest ds was a BIG Cubs fan when we moved to Chicago 2 years ago. But, once Sosa and a few other players left last year, he has turned into a big Sox fan. My ds's go to bed at 8pm, so I have been taping the games. I fell asleep last night and didn't tape long enough, so ds is frustrated with me that he doesn't get to watch the whole 14 innings!!! The games have been so exciting.

Kaye, I thought the call in game 2 was awful and I am cheering for the Sox. But, dh(the big Astros fan) said he thought it was the right call. Who knows.

I know... isn't it so dissappointing? I guess we can just be happy we got this far and got to play IN the World Series even though the outcome wasn't what we wanted. I feel sorry for those guys, tonight the pressure is on and even if they do win it's going to be a rough rest of games.
